@ryanbrewer @kyledcollins the fun thing now is working on the harnesses and skills and tooling that makes the SDLC work well - sort of engineering the level above the product if that makes sense. Still very much software development, just much faster to implement bits!

@kyledcollins Most of that is solved. I miss the flow state of not having to outsource thinking and managing 10 threads

@itsjulianhoward Self-improving agents - can you get data from good and bad runs somehow and feed that data into a weekly PR that improves the skills and tools by itself?

Anyone got some good ways to keep up with cutting edge AI techniques (not just latest models)? Currently, I spend a lot of time on: - memory/context systems - skills + process automations - testing different harnesses hmm, guess that's pretty much it HAHA. I don't use loops, are they worth it? For context, I run an AI & marketing agency where my work mainly consists of running ads, cold email, building voice & sms booking agents, building lead capture funnels & some websites. I also build internal tools. Anything I should be paying more attention to?

Today we're opening up the DoorDash CLI in limited beta. `dd-cli` lets you order DoorDash directly from your agent: search stores, find the best deals, check out, and more. Early access for US/Canadian macOS developers by waitlist. Excited to see what folks build!

I’m in a WhatsApp gc with 23 CMOs of 8-fig biz. Last week this CMO texted that Claude recommends his product in 9 out of 10 prompts. Site traffic’s up. LLM traffic CVR is higher than ever. This guy is 25 years old and knows more about Claude / ChatGPT naming your brand on search than anyone else I know. I asked him to give a masterclass for my team. We’re 90 days in, with similar outcomes: +% of traffic with high intent to buy. 4x meetings from AI literally saying GrowthAssistant. I asked him to share everything you’d need to know about the first 3 months of starting a GEO program. He sent me this guide that breaks down his entire process: – High visibility channels + how to play on each one – Tool suites he trusts and what metrics he lives by – The easy wins to amplify any size brand in search Comment “GEO” and I’ll DM this playbook with you.

@BraedendotTECH I spent the morning learning about amino acids with Haskell types because I realised I did not really understand what they were - Claude Code made this really simple for me to spin up some examples and probe the topic. I think we just need to actively learn.

I'm 33 and I think Claude Code is melting my brain. For 6 months straight I've had 5-6 terminals open at once, waiting on responses just to smash "enter" 90% of the time. That's the whole job now. And it's doing something to me. A few friends and I keep circling back to the same thing in conversations: none of us feel as sharp as we used to. Maybe it's just us. But I keep wondering how many other people in their 30s feel it too. (And yeah: this is a me problem, how I lean on the tool, not the tool itself. Doesn't make the effect any less real.)

@sama @grok has openai / sama ever downgraded models for end users due to performance/cost/regulatory pressure?

@bookercodes Would love to see a working example in open source of a non-toy project to learn from! It’s clear, but has so many hard things glossed over as “just x”

@samlambert I think it’s fair to say this if they can keep up with the team without it. They can’t, but it would be fun to watch the attempt :P

We had a talented engineer apply to PlanetScale but they told us they are ethically opposed to using AI. How do people think this is a possible stance in 2026?

Three questions: 1) what happens when you turn on a computer? 2) what happens when you open a website? 3) what happens when you take a picture on phone camera? That covers hardware, system design, software, networking, internet. I recently asked 1) to an “AI engineer” but sadly he couldn’t answer.

@sflorimm I think it’s just common on X/HN/etc that we easily forget the vast majority of engineers are working in large corporate environments or regular non tech industries; there’s 27 million full time devs that is increasing and another 20 million hobbyists & adjacent like academics

@towardtype1 honestly a healthy reality check, the silent majority is just getting real work done. do you think x founders overcomplicate things compared to the enterprise java crowd?

Wonder if you could put dynamic runtime data over a code graph to watch what Claude is building at the function level without reviewing the code - some sort of visual control pane. Anyone building this?

@forgebitz I think maaaaybe you could graph the I/O of a system with some general health scores and list of acceptance tests that lets you move above lines of code to functions, maaaybe. Would be cool to try out and see. Agree so far though.
