The timelapse captured the northern horizon from 2 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. finishing with 541 frames and seven total meteors. NOAA later announced that a CME driven G3 geomagnetic storm caused KP7 levels to be observed early Sunday morning.

The aurora made an unexpected appearance while we were timelapsing for Perseid meteors in central Nevada this past weekend. Single aurora image below with composite meteors from Sunday morning at 4:12 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2024.
