I've had a few of these this month. It usually starts with an "Angel Investor" In linkedin reaching out on behalf of one of his portfolio companies, and wants you to speak with the Founder. The actual meet seems to be with a real person who will talk about credentials a good amount before asking you to take a look at their codebase. Be careful out there folks.
English

Had an interview with a “crypto” recruiter. We talked for about 40 minutes, and then they asked me to look at some code.
Their first instruction was to clone the repo. I didn’t. They seemed surprised, so I told them I wanted a moment to check whether it was safe first.
I ran a quick analysis with Claude.
Turns out the code had a backdoor. It would copy my environment variables and send them to a remote server.
The recruiter went speechless and ended the call pretty quickly.
Be careful who you talk to. Scammers are real.
English

This is a pretty big deal, if you’ve been vibe coding lately.

@justintrimble You mean like @AvaStarsNFT ? I'm not sure what other collections might actually fit your description....

I didn’t get my airdrop for punk 9706, and many other punks didn’t get anything, and there was no easy path towards getting it, which left a salty taste in many owners mouth today, derailing the token trajectory. It felt like many of the biggest winners were not punk owners at all, so the stated intent wasn’t felt by the community that the token was named after. Dropping tokens to an exported owner list is one of the simplest operations in contract management, and verifying the output against said owner list is incredibly easy as well. This could have been an incredible boon for the nft ecosystem if it was run by a team with some development experience behind it, but with this background there’s no reason to believe you have the technical expertise to do anything with the token ever, so I don’t expect anything that interesting to come from you going forward.
English

Dear CryptoPunks Holders,
We've seen the recent commentary circulating around our airdrop and we want to address it directly and transparently.
First, let's talk about the so-called "social engineering" narrative. We understand skepticism is healthy in this space, but skepticism without evidence isn't analysis, it's FUD. Every project that gains organic traction gets hit with this accusation. We'd rather let the facts speak.
On the technical side: our smart contract was specifically designed with anti-snipe measures from day one. Buy transactions were capped at 0.3% of total supply per wallet at launch, precisely to prevent anyone from dominating early price action and to ensure fair distribution across the community. This is not something a poorly executed or malicious project does. This is what a team that actually cares about its project does.
Now, regarding the distribution issues. yes, there was a problem. Approximately 10% of the supply did not reach its intended recipients due to a technical issue. We want to be crystal clear: we did not pocket that allocation. We burnt all of it, accidentally, and then we purchased those tokens with our own funds at market price and manually sent them to the holders that had not received their airdrop
We're not here to pump a quarter and ride the wave. We're here to build something that lasts in the CryptoPunks ecosystem. And if we weren’t, we would already be out. We’re holders, just like anyone else that buys on the open market
We respect @PunksOTC and the nuance in their analysis, but we'd invite anyone with genuine questions to look at the coin, our on-chain distribution records, and our team's actions when things didn't go perfectly. That's where character shows
The holders.

hey @punkthecoin punk 9706 did not receive an airdrop of $punk you should create some path for owners to reach out to you
English

@punkthecoin @Tschuuuuly @cryptopunks I also did not get any of this, could you send some to punk 9706 @punkthecoin
English

the @cryptopunks airdrop was the introduction
what comes next is the community deciding what $PUNK becomes
the punks will figure it out. they always do

@JeffJacksonNC Would be amazing to see a fine so large that Ticketmaster has to go into bankruptcy proceedings and that fine money go to partial refunds for every person who bought though them. Anything less and we’ll be right back here in maybe 3-5 years.
English

We just won.
Ticketmaster / Live Nation was the biggest antitrust case in years. A jury just ruled for us on all claims.
We brought this case with a big group of AGs and USDOJ - until last month, when USDOJ cut a backroom deal with Live Nation in the middle of the trial and bailed.
We rejected their deal, finished the trial, and now a jury has found that they’ve been operating as an illegal monopoly and used their power to unlawfully raise ticket prices on you.
This is a huge win for consumers and artists, but it also sends a message that we can still take on monopolies - and win.
But we aren't done yet. The case now moves to a second phase where the judge will determine the specific remedies needed to dismantle Ticketmaster’s grip on the industry.
Our goal is simple: restore real competition, end the abuse of consumers and artists, and bring fair pricing back to live entertainment.

@azaztrader01 @nftsmart @KaneMayfield Right now it recognizes the Winamp player and the built in web player at Tokensmart.co it accrues time spent to your logged in profile. Next step is to tie it to x and YouTube accounts and have it stream 24/7
English

@trislit @nftsmart @KaneMayfield Oh man, Winamp brings back memories. Does the system recognize different media players for scoring, or is it all about the in-app activity?
English

Continuing the @nftsmart build, testing out a new Virtual desktop using the Tokensmart login system. With this delivery path you can have activity count towards scoring metrics partners might want to use. Here's me testing Quake while listing to @KaneMayfield in winamp. Try it at desktop.tokensmart.co

@marka_eth I feel this, it's felt pretty sparse for a long time now. I still have a core small group of OG's who will respond and chat if I reach out but I don't receive much spontaneous "look at this cool thing" sort of reach out anymore.
English

hard to put this into words but…
don’t think i’ve ever felt more alone in this space
people i thought were genuine friends don’t respond to dm’s
group chats with my nft “bros” are dead
countless people i communicated with for years just completely gone
dm’s to KOLs organising events go unanswered
dozens of hours of work trying to collab with peers gets very little recognition…
just how i feel
and the reason why i try to reply to every comment & dm
because human interaction has always been, and especially now, is something we desperately need
English

@Daan618crypto @nftsmart @KaneMayfield Need to see if I can setup a multiplayer server so we can all blow each other up now

@FinFreedom414 Option B sounds pretty sweet, usually that scenario would leave you closer to negative net worth though
English

Imagine you had to choose your life at age 40:
Option A:
Single. No kids.
$10M net worth.
Travel anywhere. Total freedom.
Quiet house. Quiet holidays.
Option B:
Married. 3 kids.
$1M net worth.
Drive a Toyota. Chaos every morning.
Loud house. Full dinner table.
Be honest, which life are you choosing?
English

They did a good job at digging past info out of my public profiles that usually get skipped by pretty much every other “chain analysis” style project I’ve seen before. Some of the info in there came from analyzing my older wallets and multiple social posts. It helps that it also closed with a feel good callout during an annoying cycle of doom postings and constant reminders of the trash that has gained most attention in this space in the past.
English

For all my crypto friends, I am working on redesigning @nftsmart and am looking for feedback/opinions. You can check out the current MVP at tokensmart.co
I usually just hack away on my own, but realize that I need to get much better about showing off what I am playing with to the world. This is very much an ongoing exploration of how we can archive early content, while also providing tools to our community that hopefully help them achieve success (however they want to track that)
Let me know what you would find useful, and if you are sitting on early content you would like to see included you can submit links in the user profile sections for possible inclusion in the radio feed.
