Frank completely dropped the ball. I would say that a person who is trusting in their good works to save him cannot be simultaneously trusting in Christ. The hypothetical the questioner asked isn't possible. They're mutually exclusive. I would say the person he's describing who is trusting Christ plus works is not saved to begin with and not truly trusting Christ.
