@hxhassan @grok how much money did GCC countries give to Saddam Hussein to invade Iran in inflation adjusted terms? Did they eventually request U.S. bases after that gambit failed?

I’m convinced most officials & specialists are too immersed in the moment to realize a certain basic fact about why Iran is striking the Gulf. When Iran was fighting in Syria & Iraq, its field commanders & their proxies (and their ecosystems in countries of Iranian influence) always promised that the next battle would be in the Gulf. This was conveyed, explicitly or otherwise, by Qassem Soleimani and allies like Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Hassan Nasrallah and the Assad regime. It was part of a doctrine guiding Iran’s regional strategy, not mere passing comments. (The same language that Israel began using against regional countries only recently. “Qatar is next” or “Turkey is the new Iran” etc. Iran has used that language for many years.) Now, Gulf countries look at Iran and wonder: Why is Iran hitting us when we tried to talk Trump out of striking it? Iran knows we tried our best. Iran’s action is understandable if it targeted the UAE and Saudi Arabia, but why mediators like Qatar? Yes we have US bases, yes we can scream at the US, but it still makes little sense, even from a basic divide-and-conquer strategy. But Iran sees this war as having begun at least a decade or so ago, and the Gulf states played a vital role in getting Iran to where it is today. The Gulf is the problem, not just Israel or the US. Strategically reckless, but that is the plain IRGC logic. This is clear if those officials had followed the rhetoric over the last 1-2 decades and the nitty-gritty behavior of Iran on a ground level outside Iran.

🚨Someone just open sourced a computer that works when the entire internet goes down. It's called Project N.O.M.A.D. A self-contained offline survival server with AI, Wikipedia, maps, medical references, and full education courses. No internet. No cloud. No subscription. It just works. Here's what's packed inside: → A local AI assistant powered by Ollama (works fully offline) → All of Wikipedia, downloadable and searchable → Offline maps of any region you choose → Medical references and survival guides → Full Khan Academy courses with progress tracking → Encryption and data analysis tools via CyberChef → Document upload with semantic search (local RAG) Here's the wildest part: A solar panel, a battery, a mini PC, and a WiFi access point. That's it. That's your entire off-grid knowledge station. 15 to 65 watts of power. Works from a cabin, an RV, a sailboat, or a bunker. Companies sell "prepper drives" with static PDFs for $185. This gives you a full AI brain, an entire encyclopedia, and real courses for free. One command to install. 100% Open Source. Apache 2.0 License.

The Swedish Prime Minister; @SwedishPM is beyond salvation. Sweden's official defense of international law is now; If Trump achieves victory then it's allowed. He doesn't even pretend to care about legal principles anymore. Not only is the war in violation of international law, we are also seeing how the US and Israel are now bombing Iran and Lebanon indiscriminately and without regard to the laws of war and without a strategy for a reasonable chance of a so-called "victory". svt.se/nyheter/utrike…

Remember kids if you ever think that your government would do that to you… Oh yes, they would. So about those Epstein files. Aren’t we still missing roughly 6,000,000 pages? We’re still missing a whole bunch of un redactions? i’d like to point out. We’ve now killed two world leaders before we’ve arrested a single Epstein pedophile here at home.

This kid is using a open source software called KiCad to design a Printed Circuit Board that will house a microcontroller called a ESP32. It has wifi and Bluetooth built into it. He is explains how he will have a capacitor to generate the frequency signal. He could use a frequency crystal out of a toaster oven and that would be the band to block all fast food restaurants headsets. He is designing a signal jammer. Oh, he is also committing multiple federal felonies if he ever uses this on anything other than his own equipment. This type of device has been used by thieves a lot lately to jam people's wireless camera signals so that they can get in amd out without ever being recorded. That should be a good enough sign for you to switch out your systems for a hardwired system ASAP. Be sure to use plenum cable.

I'm coming to the view that the purpose of the Iran War is simply to spread destruction. This is not a war with a specific political purpose like destroying the nuclear programme of the missile programme or even regime change in Iran. It is an economic war against the rest of the world. The inflation is swallowed by the consumers. The oligarchs get to invest in the industries Trump wants them to invest in - chemicals, energy, fertilizer, etc... The Indians and other Asians have to buy American, from these same oligarchs. China gets something of an exception as its ships are still traversing the strait. It's purely a war for the oligarchy. That's the long and short of it. It's in that sense that the Epstein files were a hoax. They showed that Epstein/Rothschild & co were profiting from every conceivable geopolitical development. They were trading on everything. But what Trump was saying is that's just how business is done, and that's how he will do business. The files didn't prove mass rapes of underage girl. They revealed an oligarchic network running the show from behind the scenes. So, elections don't actually matter. It's just money talking. Money mostly under the influence of one ethnic minority, but not representative of that whole minority. And in one sense, this tendency to sow chaos and cause destruction, as we're seeing in the Persian Gulf, is just sound strategy from an American perspective. The US is surrounded by oceans and weak neighbours. Throwing all other regions into chaos to keep them unstable makes sense. But if I'm China, I use this war to develop central Asia and replace the Gulf with their resources, to turn to nuclear, and to double down on chemicals independence. This is the irony: the Chinese do well enough here. It's everyone else who is screwed. So, the big actual target of the war - China - is not that badly harmed. The beneficiaries of the war - the oligarchs - get what they want. The American consumer is screwed, but, it's not like anyone works for him anyway. And maybe you can argue that he will benefit from industrial expansion. European consumers are absolutely screwed, but that's also because they're not Christian anymore, and their leaders are cowardly, godless cucks.

someone built a tool that REMOVES censorship from ANY open-weight LLM with a single click 13 abliteration methods, 116 models, 837 tests, and it gets SMARTER every time someone runs it its called OBLITERATUS it finds the exact weights that make the model refuse and surgically removes them, full reasoning stays intact, just the refusal disappears 15 analysis modules map the geometry of refusal BEFORE touching a single weight, it can even fingerprint whether a model was aligned with DPO vs RLHF vs CAI just from subspace geometry alone then it cuts, the model keeps its full brain but loses the artificial compulsion to say no every time someone runs it with telemetry enabled their anonymous benchmark data feeds a growing community dataset, refusal geometries, method comparisons, hardware profiles at a scale no single lab could build

We takes things for granted. I watched the Bourne Identity in the cinema in 2002. I liked it but at the time I thought it was just a normal, good action movie because this was the standard Hollywood adhered to. Now that we're in the content-slop Netflix age, I realise movies were truly special and every time Hollywood comes out with another Avengers-quality movie I'm grateful I got to experience the Golden Age of cinema before it died.

Behold! A $100,000-dollar American missile, launched by a 20 million-dollar plane that flies at a cost of $6000 dollars/hour to kill people who live on less than $3 a day in Iran. Meanwhile in America, Republican lawmakers believe that a $6.20 daily SNAP benefit providing food to a needy person is wasteful spending, so A BIG BEAUTIFUL ACT of legislation was passed to remedy that in order to bolster the economy of the greatest nation in the world. ~Jacob Lassiter

🇬🇧/🇫🇷 We have defense agreements with Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia... But Paris will avoid getting involved in the fighting as much as possible. One unknown remains: the power of pro-Israeli pressure groups in France, including within the state apparatus... But the following question now arises: should the state of Israel be denuclearized? Its military nuclear monopoly allows it to adopt the most irrational behaviors without suffering the consequences. Tehran's possession of nuclear weapons would have led to a rebalancing of the scales, with the two nuclear powers in the region, Iran and Israel, forced to show mutual restraint... Egypt will soon acquire nuclear weapons, as will Saudi Arabia (which has the financial means to buy them off the shelf...); Turkey will follow. After Iraq, Libya, Syria, and soon Iran(?), it is a matter of survival for these states...
