@dhh CarPlay / Android Auto would fix that. I don’t like the concept that I have to log in again in the car to apps I already have on my phone. Or pay again for connectivity.

Kinda crazy that if you pair Spotify to your car, you still can't listen to tunes at your desk if someone else is driving the vehicle.

It was bad enough to hand @MayorOfLA @KarenBassLA billions of taxpayer dollars to house homeless people in hotels. Now she’s planning a $2 BILLION “affordable” housing project allegedly for 3500 seniors, which we know will be $20 billion, take 20 years, and never be built.
Matthew Seedorff@MattSeedorff

NEW: Mayor Karen Bass goes one-on-one with us on a proposed $2 billion, 3,500-unit affordable senior housing project in Woodland Hills, CA. We also ask for clarification on remarks she made that some homeless people use meth to stay awake at night for protection.

It can’t be done imo. The canceling devices have to be either near each noise source, or near each listener. Imagine a clear lake with multiple people making waves. You can cancel out the movement at any one point. What you can’t do is add one wave maker to cancel all the waves

if anyone is developing a device in this category, please dm me. i will invest asap. i am not kidding. please. i am begging anyone to do this. this would structurally change the composition of public life in meaningful ways.

What if we could cancel out urban noise pollution? Place a set of speakers that act like noise-cancelling airpods for all pedestrians simultaneously You can actually do this - and it paves the way for an "acoustics foundation model" Simulation code + proposal 👇

In the next episode, concerned with California’s sad state of affairs, Ro takes a freedom flotilla to reach the glorious Palestine by sea. If all goes well he will continue his trek further and meet with IRGC freedom fighters. New Jersey Democratic state Senator Andrew Zwicker on a new bill requiring cameras plus two additional sensors (likely LiDAR & radar) for autonomous vehicles, which would effectively ban @Tesla robotaxis in the state if passed: "This is not anti-Tesla. I'm pro-New Jersey safety; At this point, I don't think the evidence is sufficient that a single sensor with software can handle situations that humans can," Zwicker said. Also, Uber argued that the state should continue requiring human drivers for most rides, a very anti-autonomous vehicle stance, despite the fact that data shows humans are worse drivers than autonomous vehicles....

New York City's Department of Buildings has released a new image showing the emergency works to stablise the 37-storey tower at 235 East 42nd Street after structural beams were seen buckling on its 21st floor. In a statement, the Department said: "Crews working through the night have made significant progress in stabilizing the impacted building at 235 East 42nd Street. DOB inspectors and engineers will remain on site to monitor the progress of work and continue their investigation into the structural failure." New York City Buildings Commissioner Ahmed Tigani had reassured New Yorkers on Tuesday night that the building was stable. Formerly the headquarters of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, the building at 235 East 42nd Street had been undergoing renovation work to convert it from office space to more than 1,600 high-end apartments — including the addition of four new floors and the extension of several other levels. Fire crews were called to reports of falling masonry at the site on Tuesday morning local time. A 'frozen-zone' was established from 40th to 45th Streets and from First to Third Avenues, which saw the area closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic and buildings evacuated. The building renovation project, designed by Gensler for Metro Loft and David Werner Real Estate, had been due to complete in 2027. It's understood that the general contractor is 235 GC LLC with GACE as structural engineers. 📷 NYC Department of Buildings

I wanted to better understand the situation with the collapsing building in NYC, so I had Fable build an architecturally-accurate 3D model of the building (based off schematics), place the sagging beams, AND implement an animation of this should be remediated. Link below

How is that even possible, we elect people to the position with all the responsibilities, not just to the title. At election time the responsibilities conferred are what’s at stake. Otherwise whats stopping him from saying State Superintendent handles janitorial duties and nothing else.

Newsom couldn’t beat me at the ballot box, so he changed the rules. After I won the primary for State Superintendent, he rammed through one of the biggest power grabs in California history, handing the office's duties to a governor's appointee. This is what fear looks like.

Important updates on structural problems at the former Pfizer building in Midtown: The building is at risk of a localized collapse due to two structural (load-bearing) columns buckling on the 21st floor. There are also multiple cracks and sagging floors. The building remains unstable, and city officials have witnessed continued movement of the building since around 8am this morning aided by the use of FDNY drones.   A frozen zone has been established from 40th to 45th streets and from First to Third avenues. Avoid the area. Luckily, everyone in the building has been evacuated and accounted for, and no injuries have been reported.   FDNY, DOB and NYCEM, including inspectors and engineers, are closely monitoring the evolving situation and looking for an opportunity to enter the building to shore up the 21st floor by installing beams to spread out the load. That opportunity would only be possible once the building has been deemed stable.   This is a steel-frame building, meaning a collapse would not be a total one, but more localized, according to FDNY. This is an active office-to-residential conversion project, and there will be an investigation into what caused this dangerous situation.

Negativity to Rivian in the Tesla community is bonkers. They are in a precarious financial spot but they’ve gone from best selling in niche luxury segment to designing the extremely well received mainstream R2. They are primed for making it at scale. Won’t be easy.
