Now that he has been sentenced to death, will President Museveni approve it? The Luzira hangman must be the most idle government employee, since the president rarely appends his signature to death penalty orders.

I checked my DNA. Apparently, I'm 14% Greek? I always knew I was related to Alexander the Great — Uganda military chief Muhoozi Kainerugaba 'I'm going to visit Greece and hope they won't ask me for a visa' Earlier he demanded Turkey send him their most beautiful woman as a wife

Findings and Conclusions of the Inquiry into the Conduct of an IDF Soldier Who Damaged a Christian Symbol in Southern Lebanon The inquiry found that during IDF activity in the area of the Christian village of Debel in southern Lebanon, an IDF soldier damaged a Christian religious symbol while another soldier photographed the act. Six additional soldiers were present at the scene and did not act to stop the incident or report it. The inquiry determined that the soldiers’ conduct completely deviated from IDF orders and values. The IDF expresses deep regret over the incident and emphasizes that its operations in Lebanon are directed solely against the Hezbollah terrorist organization and other terrorist groups, and not against Lebanese civilians. From the moment the report of the incident was received, the IDF has been working to assist the local community in replacing the statue. Accordingly, it was decided that the soldier who damaged the Christian symbol and the soldier who photographed the act will be removed from combat duty and will receive 30 days of military detention. The remaining troops who stood by have been summoned for clarification discussions that will be held later on, after which further command-level measures will be determined. Procedures regarding conduct with religious institutions and symbols were reinforced to the troops prior to their entry into the relevant areas, and will be reinforced again for all troops in the area following the incident. The findings of the inquiry were presented to the Chief of the General Staff and the Commander of the Northern Command. The Chief of the General Staff condemned the incident and stated that it constitutes unacceptable conduct and a moral failure, far exceeding any acceptable standard and contradicting IDF values and the expected conduct of its troops.
Israel Defense Forces@IDF

Following the completion of an initial examination regarding a photograph published earlier today of an IDF soldier harming a Christian symbol, it was determined that the photograph depicts an IDF soldier operating in southern Lebanon. The IDF views the incident with great severity and emphasizes that the soldier’s conduct is wholly inconsistent with the values expected of its troops. The incident is being investigated by the Northern Command and is currently being addressed through the chain of command. Appropriate measures will be taken against those involved in accordance with the findings. Furthermore, the IDF is working to assist the community in restoring the statue to its place. The IDF is operating to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure established by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, and has no intention of harming civilian infrastructure, including religious buildings or religious symbols.

Nothing ever changes in Washington. No matter which party is in charge. You still get a bigger debt. You still get foreign wars and you pay for them. Your cost of living still increases and the value of the dollar continues to shrink. Voting for both Democrats and Republicans is the worst ROI for the American people.

You assume the parents never sat down to debate the issue of a boarding school, that is if that school eve has a boarding section, as compared to a day school? Let me wait to see how you drive from Kampala to Kabale to visit a family and discuss what you think their child needs. Good luck if your solutions align with what they want for their child.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

📌Today’s Office; Kampala Northern Bypass. In undertaking these essential periodic maintenance tasks, we’re guided by a familiar proverb; “a stitch in time, saves nine…!” Timely interventions today will prevent bigger failures tomorrow, protect road users but also preserve the life of this very critical urban corridor, a distribution spine within the national road network linking Kampala–Gulu (northbound traffic), Kampala–Jinja (eastbound traffic), Kampala–Hoima/Masaka corridors ([west & southwest], and the Kampala–Entebbe axis. Our apologies for the temporary inconvenience. We’re working day and night to expedite these works! @MoWT_Uganda

Kampala has refused. Eh! Should government introduce congestion pricing and start charging fees to drivers entering the city? We have — and for a long time, been talking about investment in reliable, efficient public transit options like buses, metros, light rail — and other things like car pooling incentives, AI traffic management optimization systems, enforcement of discipline for riders and drivers on the roads e.tc!

Prof. Pauline Byakika-Kibwika made a strong case for increased research funding. While she thanked the @GovUganda for its ongoing support, she pointed out a significant disparity: MUST currently receives 1 billion UGX for research and innovation, whereas sister universities receive up to 30 billion UGX. She strssed how @MbararaUST needs additional support to operationalize the MUST Research Institute and consolidate the university's leading position in national innovation.
