Can reasonably debate a spot or two here and there but don’t have any huge issues with this list.
Some will disagree but nice to see Dak getting some deserved respect at #6, imo.

@bowtiedgerman I’ve traveled a bunch with my little kids over the last 5 years and I have found the exact opposite to be true. At almost every security check, boarding line, in the place, etc, we have been prioritized and received excellent treatment.

After traveling with young kids a lot recently and experiencing airports in a whole new way, it’s clear our society staunchly prioritizes “seniors” over families with young children and I have become a single issue voter on reversing this hierarchy

@ObcnSuperMatt @bazashc @pete_churchill Sure, I would agree about 6 year olds. I still think it’s a “children’s story”, but as CS Lewis says, “A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.”

@bazashc @twilliamc15 @pete_churchill 8 years old if you're reading at the top of your class, not the average 8 year old. Certainly not most 6 year olds, having them ask about a lot of words makes sense.

Got tired of reading the kiddy books for bedtime and decided to read the Hobbit to my 6 & 7 year olds I hadn’t read it since like 5th grade and it’s over the top linguistically advanced for kids I thought they might struggle but they absolutely loved it Every page they’d stop me 5+ times asking what certain words mean and I had to consistently stop and explain things but man I feel like it has been absolutely great for them (and me tbh) Only classical novels from here on out at bedtime

@bazashc @pete_churchill It’s definitely a kids book that can be rediscovered more as an adult. I read the first time when I was like 8 and loved it. Read it again last year at 35 and still loved it and found details I hadn’t caught as a kid.

We develop players through the lens of other US sport by emphasizing speed/power, instead of focus on technique and skill

@ravens4dummies People always say, “our best athletes play other sports”… it’s not the athletic ability whatsoever, our guys were probably more athletic than Belgiums. The skill, mindset, team play is just not there. We looked like we panicked every time we crossed midfield.
