For the PoE2 players: Can you answer this poll about how/what you're playing this league? It helps a me lot to adjust the filter for league start. I'll publish results before league start! Link in comments. PS: Will be streaming live in ~an hour

@ryanflorence I realized if I had a bit indepth knowledge of something I have worked on extensively like react. I tend to enjoy burning token more for it because i have some clarity. I need to find a sweet spot where I burn tokens to learn new stuff and produce output with learned clarity.

Pressure to have faster output by burning tokens but not allowed to burn infinite tokens and then looking at the output and hating it and realizing you could have done a better job with zero tokens but now the tokens are spent and time has passed is kinda killing me rn

@kyrylo Tailwind has powers you might want to fiddle a bit more to find it. Plain CSS is completely valid too. Its just that tailwind shines for the fast development speed with its utility classes. Also AI agents can use it efficiently since it don't have to context switch to css files.

Styling with Tailwind feels like being trapped in a cage. You get some speed at the start, but the moment you want real control you're stuck. Only pure CSS gives you raw power. Change one variable and the border-radius updates everywhere in your UI. That's it. You can't beat that.

@NeverSinkDev Congratulations. Feels good to witness a new life chapter of someone whose filters are a pillar of my path of exile gameplay experience. Looking forward to good things to happen with this change.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I've been working on FilterBlade since 11 years. It's time for a change. I quit my job as a Cloud Architect. I'm officially going full-time on my projects. THANK YOU all for being a part of this journey. What does it mean for FilterBlade/my Filter? 1/n

@jamonholmgren The problem is I need experience to truly pay the tech dept. AI knows multiple solutions but most of the time it will pay it with something completely unexpected which instead adds more debt.

Agentic coding tip Pay down tech debt immediately With agents, there should be no such thing as “tech debt”. An agent should simply pay down every bit of tech debt before presenting you with the “finished work”. Unlike humans, agent time is not very valuable; it can and should continue to work on something until it’s done, and shouldn’t make concessions assuming human constraints. If an agent tells you that it’s “leaving something for later”, tell it to go finish it first before saying it’s done. Example prompt (best if it is in your docs): ``` Do not leave any tech debt behind. If you have taken any shortcuts, go back and do them right. This is a hard acceptance criteria that must be completed. ```

For the PoE2 and PoE1 league starters: Here's a returning PoE1 style coming this Friday: VAAL - Blood, purple, crimsons, yellow - One of the most popular PoE1 FilterBlade styles - Strong contrasts and clear patterns - Adapted for PoE2 What do you think?

@harinidesignss @figma The on hover effects are awesome. The navbar shows doodle, the alphabets in footer let my cursor pass through. The folders shuffling back on scroll. This ticks all the checkboxes of an imaginary product designer I had in my mind to have such an insane portfolio.

I disappeared for a while because I was busy building my little world on the internet. ✨ My portfolio website is finally live! 🟢 Some parts are still under construction, but honestly, I wanted to put it out anyway instead of endlessly perfecting it. Designed on @figma, built on @framer , with a little interactive garden vibe-coded with @claudeai . Open it on desktop in Chrome. Go plant a seed. 🌱 harinisk.com

With AI what would have normally been 2 hours of study, 2 hours of white board, and about 6 hours of programming has been compressed into 7 2 hour sessions that have gone in the wrong direction. Truly alien technology

@0x45o Yes but it should be a small percentage who either never knew about github or are about to discover it. Why would I not use a free tool which can undo big blunders in code I or my agents do regularly in minutes.

@DevanshuXi I have threw of AI as my identity ever since I realized about skill atrophy. But would like these companies to accept AI tools as how we use calculators in exams during interviews. What if I use AI to implement 8 Queens ii while making complete sense and solve it in 2mins.

I’ve interviewed with a lot of companies lately whose founders spend half their time on Twitter saying things like “software engineering is dead”, “just use LLMs”, “AGI will replace coding”, etc. But the second the actual interview starts: “No AI tools allowed.” Then suddenly it’s: hard DSA, graph theory, geometry algorithms, distributed systems, low-level internals, system design, tradeoff discussions, concurrency, runtime complexity, memory optimization, and 4 rounds of “explain why your architecture decision is better.” I still remember there is this company that asked me to implement "N-Queens ii" under 10 minutes. Kinda funny honestly. If software engineering was truly “solved” by prompting an LLM, these companies wouldn’t be filtering candidates using some of the hardest CS fundamentals possible. Social media narrative and actual hiring reality are looking like two completely different worlds right now. A lot of the “engineers are finished” discourse honestly feels more like fundraising narrative, hype cycles, or market positioning than what companies internally believe. Because internally? Everyone still knows good engineers and problem solving skills are insanely valuable.

Every time GitHub has an outage our team is paged. Incidents at Vercel get automatically filed by anomaly detection systems. We just detected an outage 16 minutes before their status page changed. Deployments suddenly dipped and surged. Despite all the chatter about coding AGI, the reality is that software infrastructure remains an extremely hard problem. I have no doubt the GitHub team is highly competent, and there's no shortage of models and agents available to them. Don't forget this is the company that brought us Copilot, the first major breakthrough product in AI coding. Yet clearly the prompt "/goal scale GitHub, make everything extremely fast, make no mistakes" is not enough. The hard parts of software remain very hard, especially under unprecedented demand, as more people join in on the fun of building new things.

This is definitely the most time-saving use case for Codex I've ever done LOL I helped run a hackathon for CapCut - we needed to print 174 name tags and it started in an HOUR I was given a thermal printer, a csv and a name tag template AND YA BOY CODEX CAME IN CLUTCH AF:

@mitsuhiko The lack of taking responsibility of the AI output by the business owner is a big problem. I don't blame the owner as they might be non technical. The real people that blog owner wants to talk to could be AI users but aware of its nuances like skill atrophy and such.

You probably saw this and felt the same way I did at first: “This is soooo cool… but I have no idea where to even start. I’ve never built a Chrome extension before.” So I just asked Codex to do it 10 minutes later, it was fully working. 😭 Here’s a 3-minute tutorial showing exactly how I made it ↓ You can just build things
Jaytel@Jaytel

I built myself a chrome extension called Pose Any clothing model of any store becomes me. Each brand still conveys their brand aesthetic, but I can quickly understand how something would look on me.
