I was diagnosed in 2019 at the age of 25 and it was the scariest moment of my life, Twitter was a huge help for me because I felt that I had no one to turn to, so I’m here today to support someone who may need a someone like I did 💙 #type1diabetes

Nothing more frustrating than going to a bar and asking for a diet or slim line mixer and them giving you full fat!! I ask for a reason and them dismissing it really drives me mad! One person even said to me ‘there’s nothing of you, you don’t need to drink diet lemonade’ 😌😤

Having an absolute nightmare! I have only gone and fractured 3 ribs! Doctors were worried about my kidney and lungs but CT scan showed they were okay so I am definitely lucky! I am definitely the clumsiest person I know 😭

Massive thank you to everyone who wished me well when I said about having covid! Finally starting to feel nearly 100% just the breathlessness and getting my smell back to tackle now! Covid sucks, but so grateful for the jab! Can’t imagine how I would have been if I hadn’t of it!

@type1girl2 Take D3 and zinc and vitC (if you can). Alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen, take mucinex or robitussin. Stay hydrated, lots of rest. Melatonin if you need help sleeping (it’s also an anti-inflammatory) I’m on day 7 and just got the antibody infusion.

@type1girl2 I’m a T1D, zinc, vitamin D, quercetin made the difference honestly. Taking those alone changed how I felt within 12 hours. Hope all is well.

@type1girl2 I'm so sorry to hear you are sick with Covid. Take it easy and make sure to drink lots of fluids. Hopefully the worst of it won't last too long. When I get sick I usually up my basal 10-15% as my sugars run high. Other than that, I find ginger-lemon tea soothing for coughs.

@type1girl2 If you haven't already, add some vitamin D3 into your daily routine. Helps your immune system.

@type1girl2 I was on 4x more insulin with #AndroidAPS for a number of days. Knew I was coming out the other side when rates dropped to double, then slowly back to normal rates. Take plenty of water to keep you hydrated, paracetamol & ibuprofen for the aches and the temps and get well soon 💙

@Karateka Yeah got a bad cough, temperature through the roof, aches and pains all over, pressure behind my eyes, breathlessness. I’m having a call with my diabetic team today so they’ll advise me what to do about insulin 🤞🏽

@type1girl2 Sorry to hear this as others have said rest, keep hydrated, check ketones. If you're on a SGLT2 stop taking it until you are better. Keep in touch with your DSN team for advice. Hope you're feeling better soon
