Yes, China uses thousands of electric buses, but they were not deemed suitable for Canadian transit standards and our environment when reviewed in 2019.

@uncalgary I've always believed in doing the right things the right way to ensure we deliver value for every tax dollars. What's wrong with that. GL is right. The City, then Province approaches were wrong and I'm skeptical the downtown alignment will be right for all Calgarian tax dollars.

They no question know who they are & where they fit in the bureaucracy yet they protect them from scrutiny for how they act.

It's clear that #yyccc reality does not align w/ Calgarians. An example today was choosing to proceed with ev buses, proven to sit unused in lots across North America as manufacturers go bankrupt and lawsuits pile up. #yyc is going to be left out in the cold with the bill to pay.

Yesterday, Council defeated my motion to cut $2.5 million from the top of The City's organizational chart. This isn’t how responsible organizations operate. Businesses and other boards of directors across Calgary streamline leadership to ensure efficiency and accountability. Why should City Hall be any different? In February, we gave clear direction to Administration to find efficiencies so we could reinvest in critical services Calgarians rely on. The results? Minimal savings and no real change. This motion wasn’t about overstepping our role but about holding Administration accountable and using our exclusive budgetary power to lead by example. Calgarians are tightening their belts and doing more with less. It’s past time City Hall did the same. I won’t stop advocating for better leadership, smarter spending, and a #yyccc that respects your hard-earned dollars.

He agreed that it is unethical for elected officials, at all levels of Gov't, to maintain and/or control SM accounts without publicly disclosing their involvement.
We will find a way to make this AB law in the near future.
