Honoured to share @nighealthwatch’s work using storytelling & @soljourno to drive health advocacy at the #AfricaFilmFinanceForum today with @abchealthafrica. Stories may spark conversations, but we drive real change by anchoring them on the solutions. #SoJoNigeria

Thank you to the @MSIchoices team for the warm welcome at your office yesterday. Our conversation reinforced a hard truth. While we encourage more women and girls to seek reproductive health services, the supply of services and commodities still falls far short of demand, leaving decision-makers failing women and girls at a clear health and economic cost. @UNFPANigeria @GatesAfrica @PlanGlobal @PMNCH @PathfinderInt @FP2030Global

Sexual and reproductive health and rights is not just a health issue it is an economic imperative. When girls and women can decide if, when, and how many children to have, the benefits extend far beyond individual families, strengthening households, communities, and national development. Yesterday, we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening partnerships with @MarieStopes to drive advocacy for increased access to SRHR services, backed by sustained investment, particularly at the subnational level where these services matter most.

Very insightful meeting… #Nigeria has one of the highest maternal mortality rates globally. Yet, family planning is rarely prioritised as a key preventive strategy, nor is it meaningfully integrated into MNCH initiatives, including #MAMII. This is very risky, & must change...

Had the opportunity of pitching, being accepted & funded to co-facilitate a workshop focused on solutions journalism & investigative journalism with @WamwariCK at the AIJC in 2024. Then it happened in South Africa. Glad to see it's going to Kenya this year. If you have an idea, pitch it. It's a fantastic place to learn & connect with colleagues. @beetromp & the team do a great job of curating, coordinating and supporting participants to attend. #SoJoNigeria

Lead poisoning remains a serious but often overlooked public health challenge in Nigeria, affecting children, families, and communities. We are pleased to announce the Project Amplify: Lead Poisoning Prevention in Nigeria, implemented in partnership with @ResolveTSL and @Fmohnigeria. Through this collaboration, we will drive advocacy and strategic communications interventions that will support policy uptake, institutionalisation, and sustained public engagement towards the coordinated National action to prevent lead poisoning in Nigeria. #LeadFreeNaija

The MoU just signed between Nigeria and the United States Government points to deeper cooperation on health security and domestic investment, but health data will shape where power truly sits. While partnerships matter, as does data sovereignty and how it is governed. #NHWPost @Fmohnigeria @NCDCgov

Health data is becoming Africa’s new currency of influence, & is key to regional sovereignty in line with the #AccraReset As global health partnerships shift, data governance now matter as much as financing; this #NHWPost by my colleague @solomonyemi explains why.. Thoughts?👇🏾

The @GlobalFund is seeking $14 billion in new pledges at the Johannesburg summit, with $4 billion already secured. The message is clear, without closing the gap in funds, the hard-won progress against #HIV, #TB and #malaria could stall. This replenishment is a really important moment to maintain the gains and keep lifesaving programmes on track. #StopAtNothing ➡️theglobalfund.org/en/results/
