Designer's role it changing, most teams aren't ready. As the gap between design and engineering narrows., cheaper code enables earlier validation of complex interaction, data, and state questions. shorturl.at/M65x0

@GarrettPetersen Seeing the same thing. I was able to built a @ryolu_ inspired OS as my portfolio. Have now taken that into a platform for designers (using a super strong Cursor harness) to shrink the SDLC and build the front end of our SaaS. People are missing the boat, both design and dev

The design handoff era is fading. AI does not mainly make slides faster it pulls design into the lane where truth lives: runnable UI, real data, real constraints. Designers are shifting into engineering experiences not just polishing interfaces. shorturl.at/R46Jw

Hey @shadcn are there any examples in documentation of mutli-app (different themes) monorepos? I have a setup like this where each app extends a base set of components and overrides the classes to apply different themes. This allows for apps to share common UI elements. The new preset/theme guides are starting to become incompatible with my workflow. Any ideas for where I can look for guidance?

Hey, the coherence breathing tempo they use is 6 breaths/min (5 sec inhale, 5 sec exhale). On iPhone, grab the free “Sym Breathing: HRV Coherence” app—it’s built exactly for this rhythm with voice cues. “Coherence - Breathwork” works great too. Or just play the full Huberman/Rubin 5-min guided track on YouTube and follow along daily. Easy to set a timer for 10-20 min sessions.

Rick Rubin has low heart rate variability. So he looked up everything that raises it, picked one technique, and started doing it every day. It worked. The technique: coherence breathing. 10 to 20 minutes a day, at least once, sometimes twice. Now he and @hubermanlab do it together on camera so you can follow along:

@ryolu_ Gotta agree on this, GPT 5.5 surprised me how good it is at big tasks. Just did it

@jsngr @benjitaylor This floppy disk debate misses how symbols work. We still use strike-through, copy-paste, CC/BCC and envelopes. None are literal anymore. They’ve become visual idioms we all instantly get.

Most teams are trying to “add AI” to the existing design process. That misses the point. AI shifts the bottleneck from writing code to coordination and handoffs. So the workflow needs to change too. bit.ly/udco-01

@jsngr Now we have AI agents to collaborate with I agree with this. Makes drawing and redrawing pictures in Figma feel redundant at this point. Its now a tool thst enables me to express design intent much more clearly. Love actually making again.

I like to design in code because you're both designing and making it real at the same time

Talked with @ridd_design about malleable software in the age of AI, why every app needs version control now, the key difference between malleable and disposable software, how the role of designers is evolving, and how I code like a surgeon 🤓
Ridd 🤿@ridd_design

It's clear AI is a platform shift And one of my favorite implications is the pull toward more malleable software So I asked @geoffreylitt to share his vision in today's episode and I think you'll enjoy it :) youtube.com/watch?v=zJf0Ue…

Taking part in the @bolt hackathon. Trying to build an app. 3 million tokens burned through and still not working. It’s like it’s playing with me wasting my tokens on purpose. ☹️
