@grace_hawthorn @kaitybella LMFAO this app is fucking insane so you're mad because we agree and you just wanted to argue for the sake of arguing? yeah bye bye weirdo
English

@grace_hawthorn and how exactly is that going to happen without women advocating for it
English

@grace_hawthorn @kaitybella one question mark this time since it seems to bother you so much 🙄
English

@upsetcereal @kaitybella you know you only need one question mark at a time, right? actually a lot of the emphatic assertions *are* that women should advocate for ourselves.
English

@grace_hawthorn @kaitybella you're literally fighting an argument that's not here. suggesting people are educated on their own bodies + healthcare and get preventive screening is not medical misogyny
English

@upsetcereal @kaitybella ... & over again, every time they go for a procedure. the burden of good practice is not on the patient. and we need to remember that. when it's men's health, there's no suggestion that men need to carry burden of advocating for themselves. medical misogyny is everywhere.
English

@grace_hawthorn @kaitybella and no one's suggesting that women should do all the work and never hold doctors accountable either?????
English

@upsetcereal @kaitybella no-one's suggesting we don't do both. i AM saying that putting all of the onus on women without holding HCPs to account isn't fair. not all women are in a position to advocate for themselves, many women do not want - & should not have to - disclose trauma over & over....

It is DEEPLY anti-woman and anti-feminist to encourage anything other than women NOT dying from cancer that is incredibly treatable.
A “cold piece of metal” that does nothing to our bodies that they weren’t made to do (stretch SLIGHTLY) because that is the safest and most effective cancer screaming technique possible
That is not torture.
Cervical cancer deaths are torture.
Leaving your children without a mother is torture.
Having your vagina surgically reconstructed after cancerous tumors are removed is torture.
Cold stretching is not torture.
Cassandra@lezfem
@yeriscandy19 @samplesoojin It’s not about the cervix. It’s about our vaginal walls being pried open by a cold piece of metal. It’s a torture device.
English

@grace_hawthorn @kaitybella you're right but the point is what do you suggest in the meantime. women just shouldn't bother going to the doctor, getting preventative care, or advocating for themselves at all until the system changes? like?????????? we can't do both?????
English

@kaitybella if a HCP cannot provide trauma-informed, compassionate care as the minimum, they're not fit to practice 🤷♀️
women deserve better.
English

hopefully this means doctors will stop saying "nothing we can do, come back when you want to get pregnant"

PCOS is being renamed to PMOS. (Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) The change comes from experts that say the old name was misleading, stating that it inaccurately suggested ovarian cysts as a defining feature.

@lachancenaomi27 I actually genuinely think some of these young women have been scared off by the way we talk about IUD insertions and don't understand that a regular pelvic exam is not the same thing

@Lunarlizdesigns it is stressful and there are definitely apathetic doctors! i dread the day my obgyn retires for sure. it's just one of those things we have to advocate for ourselves on. it sucks there aren't more options but there's definitely things we can ask for to improve the experience
English

@upsetcereal Thats more so my issue and I didnt have a great relationship with my gyno that she didnt help me through the process. I know I need to get another one done but it stresses me out

my very first memory in life is being sexually assaulted so I do know that thanks, I also know that Pap smears are not anywhere as bad as you guys are insisting they are and that you’re scaring young people from getting them based on feelings instead of facts

@loremachina Yk that women with sexual trauma exist right? Or that teal wands exist?
English

Crazy that people don’t want more Pap smears. When they moved the screenings to every 5 years I was so fucking mad. I beg for colonoscopies and I’m 37. I’ve had a mammogram already. I love to be screened for cancer!
vladimir iliach malenin@tronsgender
dude idk what to tell you but you have to get a pap smear
