The AI revolution must work for all of us, not just tech lords. Medicare for All given job displacement. A federal jobs program to hire 1 million Americans. I call it Work for America. An AI for the People agenda.

In the last 17 years, the price of everything has gone up. I’ve gone from too young to rent a car to member of Congress. But the federal minimum wage hasn’t gone up a cent. That’s a scandal.

As Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus’s Anti-Corruption Task Force, I’m proud to support the CPC’s new Affordability Agenda, because corruption and the high costs Americans are facing are intertwined. Americans are struggling because too many politicians are bought and sold by special interests. We need to unrig the system.

This #InternationalWorkersDay, I stand in solidarity with workers everywhere. As Co-Chair of the @Labor_Caucus, I’m in the fight to protect workers’ rights 💪 like fighting for better wages, benefits, and working conditions!

I am in full solidarity with teachers across North Carolina who are speaking out for fair pay and proper school funding. Public school teachers across our state have been ignored for far too long and the challenges they face continue to impact students and communities across our district.   I stand with you in this cause. Please be safe as you engage in your right to make your voice heard. In Congress, rest assured that I will continue to fight for the proper federal funding needed to support our teachers and advancing policies that address the growing economic challenges facing working families.

Making life in America affordable again means taking on price‑gouging corporations and delivering lower costs for housing, groceries, child care, health care, and more. Our New Affordability Agenda does exactly that for working families.

Our country is already facing enough issues with insurance companies rejecting prior authorizations. With the rise of AI, it is critical that Congress ensures that this technology is not being used to approve or deny authorizations without a human in the loop.   I’m proud to cosponsor @RepGregLandsman’s Ban AI Denials in Medicare Act to prohibit implementation of AI models in Medicare if they may influence prior authorization.

Trump's reckless war is driving up prices across the country, but especially in the Midwest, with Michigan getting hit the third hardest of any other state after Indiana and Ohio. All three of those states voted for Trump—and he repaid them by draining their residents' wallets.

Democrats must act boldly and quickly in the next Congress to make life less of a ripoff for families. We need big new ideas to make things cheaper. While corporations report record-breaking profits, working families have to choose between buying groceries, paying the rent, or getting the care they need. It is unacceptable. I’m proud to join @USprogressives in announcing the New Affordability Agenda to bring down costs by taking on wealthy corporations and special interests that are profiting from our struggle. It’s time for Congress to put working families first!

Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision significantly weakens the landmark Voting Rights Act. This means more gerrymandering and more redistricting plans that dilute minority communities. Congress should pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore voting rights protections.

Today, I voted no on the Republicans’ Farm Bill. 
This was a missed opportunity to reverse the cuts to SNAP and rein in the damage from Trump’s trade wars to give farmers critical relief. Ultimately, this bill will hurt families and farmers while helping big corporations.

Progressive Caucus members are leading the charge to end Trump's disastrous war with Iran. In the past two weeks, seven CPC members have introduced War Powers Resolution to end this illegal war. Republicans want to duck the issue. We won't let them.
