When I see people ridiculing him about his performance in Education sector, I always laugh because as a student in Anambra then, you knew the principals and teachers had to be on their toes because you never knew when Peter Obi would show up. This discipline is what fixed our schools and made it possible to move from 26th to 1st position in the country.

During NYSC, i had a disagreement with my then boyfriend. He went out in the heat of the argument and i also went to bed angry. Didn’t cook , didn’t do anything.
This guy came home at night and asked for food and i told him i didn’t cook.
He was silent then woke me up much later and said “No matter how angry you are, never let your man go to bed hungry.
Always make sure you cook.
That thing stuck like glue.

Anytime my husband and I fought, I stopped cooking. I didn’t care if he had eaten or not. I would just make food for myself and leave him to sort himself out. He never argued. He would simply order food or fix something for himself. I’d only resume cooking when I was calm again. Then one month, we had another fight… and as usual, I didn’t cook. The month ended, and he still sent my allowance… Plus the full foodstuff money like he always does. He even sent the money he had promised my dad. I was surprised. I asked him why he would still send food money when I hadn’t been cooking. He simply said, “Because it’s my responsibility.” I felt so ashamed. That was the last time I ever did that. Now, even when I’m upset, I still cook for him. And I’ve noticed something… Most of our quarrels don’t even last anymore. Somehow, we always end up talking things out while eating. Small things like this save marriages.

Power does reveal character, but history isn’t optional. Abacha’s regime brought military dictatorship, Ogoni executions, Kudirat’s assassination, billions looted, and a gagged press with many living in fear of being locked in dungeons. Some families never recovered from the trauma and those old wounds have not healed fully.
NADECO activists weren’t perfect including a few relatives of mine, but equating them as “worse” than that era romanticizes real atrocities many Nigerians suffered.
Let’s critique today’s failures on rule of law and accountability across all sides, but let’s not rewrite the past to score points. I would equally frown tomorrow if someone says endsars protesters, are worse than murderous/criminal police officers.
A New Nigeria needs facts, not selective memory. Let’s build Nigeria forward with truth. 🇳🇬

The Lagos State Police Command has taken cognisance of this viral video circulating. It is important to state that the action of the officer, as seen in the video, falls within the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, which empowers Police officers to stop and search individuals in public places in the course of crime prevention and public safety duties. The established policing procedures provide that a female suspect or individual must be searched by a female officer.
Indeed, there have been several instances where individuals conceal illicit substances, weapons, or other incriminating items in unconventional places such as wigs, caps, clothing, and personal effects, necessitating thorough but lawful searches.
The Command therefore urges members of the public to cooperate with the Police whenever they find themselves in such situations, as such cooperation greatly enhances effective policing and crime prevention
