@IAmPaulQuinn @Stryxo Just so you are aware a large majority of the online servers continue to support 1.8, a version that came out 8+ years ago, because people refuse to update

@Stryxo If you guys don't want Minecraft to "have more shit in it", Just play the old versions. Lol. Why do you guys allow Mojang to keep acting this way? It's getting ridiculous.

okay look sometimes I get the whole, "mojang lazy" whatever debate but I do not want the game to be like terraria with a trillion new things every update. I play minecraft because it's minecraft, not because I want it to have more shit in it.

THE HERDCRAFT UPDATE Who needs an inventory when you can have the world? Herd blocks, command items, and live in the moment with the Herdcraft update! Say goodbye to dull inventory management and embrace a better, mindful way to build and craft. It just makes sense! Read more Here: aka.ms/HerdCraft The Herdcraft Update is a snapshot and requires Minecraft: Java Edition.

Its been more than 2 months and hytale doesn't have proper versioning and proper server versioning This forces modders to update the mod just to change a piece of text when the mod still works Users don't understand that the mod works when they see a red warning text about it

@utfunderscore @dannolan @ptr_to_joel Your first mistake is trying to make Go resemble Java. Go is not object-oriented. Generics are only used in specific cases. Go Interfaces are composition-oriented; they are not the same as in Java.

@CordobesGr @dannolan @ptr_to_joel I wasn’t a big fan of Go when I used it. Everything having a default value was annoying, libraries have shitty support for generics, and the way interfaces worked just felt weird. I’m coming from only doing Java so it’s likely just my experience causing issues

Since OpenAI dropped gpt-oss-120b, Mistral has released 4 models that are worse than gpt-pss-120b
Artificial Analysis@ArtificialAnlys

Mistral has released Mistral Small 4, an open weights model with hybrid reasoning and image input, scoring 27 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index @MistralAI's Small 4 is a 119B mixture-of-experts model with 6.5B active parameters per token, supporting both reasoning and non-reasoning modes. In reasoning mode, Mistral Small 4 scores 27 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, a 12-point improvement from Small 3.2 (15) and now among the most intelligent models Mistral has released, surpassing Mistral Large 3 (23) and matching the proprietary Magistral Medium 1.2 (27). However, it lags open weights peers with similar total parameter counts such as gpt-oss-120B (high, 33), NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B A12B (Reasoning, 36), and Qwen3.5 122B A10B (Reasoning, 42). Key takeaways: ➤ Reasoning and non-reasoning modes in a single model: Mistral Small 4 supports configurable hybrid reasoning with reasoning and non-reasoning modes, rather than the separate reasoning variants Mistral has released previously with their Magistral models. In reasoning mode, the model scores 27 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. In non-reasoning mode, the model scores 19, a 4-point improvement from its predecessor Mistral Small 3.2 (15) ➤ More token efficient than peers of similar size: At ~52M output tokens, Mistral Small 4 (Reasoning) uses fewer tokens to run the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index compared to reasoning models such as gpt-oss-120B (high, ~78M), NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B A12B (Reasoning, ~110M), and Qwen3.5 122B A10B (Reasoning, ~91M). In non-reasoning mode, the model uses ~4M output tokens ➤ Native support for image input: Mistral Small 4 is a multimodal model, accepting image input as well as text. On our multimodal evaluation, MMMU-Pro, Mistral Small 4 (Reasoning) scores 57%, ahead of Mistral Large 3 (56%) but behind Qwen3.5 122B A10B (Reasoning, 75%). Neither gpt-oss-120B nor NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B A12B support image input. All models support text output only ➤ Improvement in real-world agentic tasks: Mistral Small 4 scores an Elo of 871 on GDPval-AA, our evaluation based on OpenAI's GDPval dataset that tests models on real-world tasks across 44 occupations and 9 major industries, with models producing deliverables such as documents, spreadsheets, and diagrams in an agentic loop. This is more than double the Elo of Small 3.2 (339) and close to Mistral Large 3 (880), but behind gpt-oss-120B (high, 962), NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B A12B (Reasoning, 1021), and Qwen3.5 122B A10B (Reasoning, 1130) ➤ Lower hallucination rate than peer models of similar size: Mistral Small 4 scores -30 on AA-Omniscience, our evaluation of knowledge reliability and hallucination, where scores range from -100 to 100 (higher is better) and a negative score indicates more incorrect than correct answers. Mistral Small 4 scores ahead of gpt-oss-120B (high, -50), Qwen3.5 122B A10B (Reasoning, -40), and NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super 120B A12B (Reasoning, -42) Key model details: ➤ Context window: 256K tokens (up from 128K on Small 3.2) ➤ Pricing: $0.15/$0.6 per 1M input/output tokens ➤ Availability: Mistral first-party API only. At native FP8 precision, Mistral Small 4's 119B parameters require ~119GB to self-host the weights (more than the 80GB of HBM3 memory on a single NVIDIA H100) ➤ Modality: Image and text input with text output only ➤ Licensing: Apache 2.0 license

Opencode update privacy policy-nya. Sekarang mereka: Collect semua usage data Simpan "selama yang diperlukan" (tanpa batas waktu jelas) Bisa share ke third parties Eksplisit bilang bakal dipake buat marketing Dulu mereka bangga ga nyimpen data kecuali retention 30 hari kayak Anthropic sama OpenAI. Sekarang? 180 derajat. Mau pindah dari Claude Pro ke Opencode Black katanya lebih murah. Tapi sekarang jadi mikir: worth it ga, ngasih semua data coding lo buat disave selamanya sama dipake buat iklan?

@ZeroErrors Would it be possible to enable the slf4j backend for Flogger so that libraries and plugins that utilise slf4j can correctly log things to the console? Similiarly, why was checkerframework chosen over JSpecify?

@slikey Will we have access to the Hytale player api in the same way we have access to mojang's session api like what is cached by api.minetools.eu. Will we also be able to fetch a players skin / cosmetics from an API?

I wouldn't call it a blog post. It is more of a technical manual with some example data. Just wrapped up a playtest with 70 people on various hardware until we finally crashed the server. There is a lot of context such as "minigame server" vs "exploration mode SMP". We believe that a 3 vCore + 8 GB server can sustain 6-8 players. A Ryzen 7950x with 12 GB RAM server, we were able to push 70 players but TPS degraded until the server crashed (~45 minutes). I think we will defintiely see 200 player minigames such as Mega Walls or Super Sky Wars. While vanilla SMP is going to require some beefy hardware to push 100 players in a single SMP. We are continuing our effort to improve stability and further add performance optimizations to get those big anarchy servers.

How do top AI companies plan to ever plan to make money? Open source models can and will distill SOTA models. Is there anything they could do to actually prevent a model leaking and becoming free to use?
