In Uber, if you choose an Uber Go, you almost always get a very dirty Wagon R which smells like piss, window side door handles and such stained by Paan spit, and seats dirty, floor dirty with obvious waste, etc. For your peace of mind, choose Ertiga style cars. The drivers of Ertiga have much better maintenance and cleanliness.
Prem Soni@ValueWithPrem

UBER: Dirty cars, irritated drivers. OLA: Random Cancellations, AC never works, Fights for AC. BLU SMART: The only decent experience. Destroyed by greedy operators. UBER BLACK: Not available. How is India still lacking one clean, reliable, premium feeling cab app in 2026? Just Charge more but please give premium clean cab experience. Whoever solves this properly will build the next giant consumer brand.

Crude oil was at $112 when petrol and diesel prices were hiked by ₹3 just two weeks ago. Now crude has dropped to $92 nearly $20 lower, but the Modi government still hasn’t reduced fuel prices. Prices go up instantly for the public, but relief never comes when crude falls.

BBC Bangla coverage of return of Illegal Migrants to Bangladesh. Illegals accept on camera that they are in India illegally and now would want to return. Few points which the coverage shows: > On avg illegals have been in Bengal for last few years, only there are few cases where they have come to Bengal almost decades ago. > Some of the family members of illegals had left for Bangladesh during the inception of SIR in Bengal and rest are attempting to leave now after the new Bengal govt came to power. > Most of the illegals have been brought via smugglers/touts in batches from Bangladesh and were asked to start working in Bengal. > Some of them have documents issued by Bangladesh govt which cannot be declined by Bangladesh Border Guard Force. > a few echoed that they won’t be able to return to Bengal again, only way to visit India would be apply for appropriate visas. >Before illegals are leaving India, extensive documentation biometric details are being captured of all individuals.

Asked #grok to give me capacity details and clarification on the terms 1/ Clarifying the numbers around Pune Metro Line 3 (Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar) capacity and what it realistically means for Hinjewadi’s peak office commute. 2/ "Single track" clarification Even though Line 3 is a physically double-track metro (two separate tracks), during peak office hours it effectively operates like one track per direction. In the morning, almost the entire load moves towards Hinjewadi offices on one track. In the evening, the heavy load moves away from Hinjewadi on the opposite track. The other track carries very few passengers during these peaks. This is standard for any metro serving a large one-sided employment hub. 3/ Peak carrying capacity (optimistic scenario) Using the best-case assumptions: 3-minute frequency 1000 passengers per train (3-car) → 20,000 passengers per hour in the peak direction per metro route. 4/ Two routes scenario Even if we consider two metro routes serving Hinjewadi (Line 3 towards Shivajinagar + a future/western corridor that could serve the Chandani Chowk side and share similar commuter load), the combined peak-direction capacity would be roughly ~40,000 passengers per hour during office peak windows. 5/ Demand side – Hinjewadi reality Hinjewadi has approximately 5 lakh daily office workers. A very large portion of these commuters travel within a concentrated ~2-hour window in the morning (office arrival) and another ~2-hour window in the evening (office departure). This creates extremely sharp peaks. 6/ The gap Even with two routes and optimistic 3-minute frequency (20,000 pax/hour/direction per route): → Combined peak-direction capacity ≈ 40,000 passengers per hour For 5 lakh workers concentrated in roughly 2-hour peak windows, the numbers show that two metro routes, each effectively using one track in the dominant direction, would still be insufficient to handle the full peak load comfortably — especially in the initial years before high modal shift and possible future upgrades (longer trains, even higher frequency). 7/ Key takeaways The metro will provide significant relief compared to current conditions. However, because of strong directional peaking and the sheer volume of commuters in short windows, peak-hour crowding on the heavy-direction trains is likely, at least initially. Frequency, train length upgrades, and strong feeder connectivity will be critical. One corridor alone cannot solve Hinjewadi’s peak-hour challenge. 8/ All figures are based on: Standard 3-car train capacity (~1000 pax) DPR modelling approach for headways Typical peak concentration patterns seen in large IT hubs Current Pune Metro operational experience (6-min headways being improved) Open to factual corrections or additional data. If you are a normal middle-class Indian, who naturally never walks 5-7 km or cycles 5-7 km in proper daytime, I strongly recommend you not follow this stunt (below) as in this killer heat wave season, you'll simply faint and fall. ⚠️
AMRUTA FADNAVIS@fadnavis_amruta

Inspired by PM Narendra Modi ji’s call for fuel conservation, I have started using a bicycle for all work within a 5-7 km radius from my home. It is a small personal step towards saving petrol and diesel, while also embracing a healthier lifestyle. Sometimes, meaningful change begins with simple choices.
