The Senate must enact the will of the people

You need a photo ID to board a plane or cash a check. It should be required to vote in federal elections too. The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship and voter ID. Called the State Department emergency number because the advisory said “depart via commercial means” and to call if you need assistance arranging departure. Airspace is shut. Airports aren’t functioning. Airlines can’t be reached. After 30 minutes on the line, they read back the same security update posted online. I understand protocols. I understand thresholds for evacuation. But telling Americans to “depart now” when there are no commercial options and offering no practical pathway is frustrating to say the least:
