So #Meta has been sued in the US for the fact that videos from the Ray-Ban Meta #smartglasses were reviewed in low-wage countries. In particular, it has been sued because the advertisement reassured people about privacy, while this data sharing feels like a privacy violation techcrunch.com/2026/03/05/met…

@SkarredGhost You can't run multiple OpenXR apps in Android XR today. You can only multitask 2D apps where sensitive data is tightly controlled by the OS.

@vad710 Wow, this is a very intriguing question. I have no idea... how does Android XR manage that?

Pico unveiled some features of its upcoming headset, codenamed Project Swan, and operating system, Pico OS 6. The headset will feature a dual-chip design, with a custom Pico Silicon aimed at spatial computing, and a SoC that will be 2x the power of a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2. The OS supports spatial computing and multitasking, and resembles that of Vision Pro. All in all, Project Swan seems to be a solid enterprise/prosumer clone of the Vision Pro. Price and release date are still unannounced, but the headset should come out in 2026. You can read all you need to know about this headset in my latest article: skarredghost.com/2026/03/02/pic… #MixedReality #Pico #VirtualReality #China #tech

@SkarredGhost I couldn't tell from your article, but I'm curious if/how apps are managed for security. For example, how do you make sure one app couldn't infer a user entering their password with controllers/hand on a virtual keyboard on another app.

POV: Your AR glasses are your new climbing coach. 🧗 Duke senior Eleanor Taylor is using Spectacles to build the future of rock climbing. By combining hand tracking with personalized motion data, she’s making the wall more accessible for beginners. The goal? A full suite of AR climbing games that know your height and wingspan better than you do.

@AndyMorphs It feels like folks on X keep looking for winners and losers. We're still (even after 10+ years) very early in our industry. We need to root for everyone to succeed. Developers, platforms, OEMs, consumers, etc.

People may have claimed the Vision Pro has been a Flop. I would argue the came in and set the standard going forward. Most headsets will now aim to be an everything device.

Not a single VR manufacturer is profitable or has ever been profitable. Not. A. Single. One. 99% of them are burning through investors money and vast majority selling hardware at loss. Most of them are not truly "Independent" either. Let that sink in.
