When we ask the government to stand up to corporations, we shouldn't be worried that they've got a profit motive to look the other way. But that's exactly what the BC NDP is allowing. Meet your Al minister, Rick Glumac. #bcpoli #bcndp

JUST IN: Former special counsel Robert Mueller has died, according to MS Now. Mueller was responsible for investigating "Russia’s interference" in the 2016 election. Mueller passed away on Friday, according to the outlet, at the age of 81. "The cause of death was not immediately known, but Mueller had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for years..." MS Now reported.

@grfarmgoat @anymanfitness This is the leading cause of alien abductions. They’re seeking the source of unlimited energy that violates the law conservation of energy. Careful.

"1200 calories is starvation" is a psyop. If you are: - a woman - have a desk job - short - over 40 (perimenopause territory) Your maintenance calories are between 1500-1600 If you want to lose fat, you need to create a deficit somehow

@paulgfinch @AJWVictoriaBC How about you guys focus on getting some work done and not knee capping the economy? There would be a lot more appetite for higher pay if you weren't sucking the life from the rest of us.

Absurd remark from @AJWVictoriaBC disparaging general wage increases in BC that were on par with Alberta and the governments own projections for average annual wage growth. If you think modest wage increases are causing this deficit you have no qualification to enter the debate.
Andrew Weaver@AJWVictoriaBC

I'm sorry, but @Dave_Eby 's comments are simply not credible. He has single handedly wreaked havoc on our province's finances because of hie 100% political and ideological approach to governance. Let's start with the 4 year 3% per year increase to BCGEU and BCTF members that other don't get to benefit from.

In this field many men have shared how they feel completely crushed when their wives pull away from physical intimacy for long periods. The pain of feeling rejected goes so deep that the urge to just end the marriage can feel both urgent and totally justified. However, I have seen time and again that what looks like a total loss of attraction is actually much more layered when we take the time to look closely. Desire in a long-term relationship doesn't work like an on-off switch. It flows back and forth depending on the emotional climate between two people, the heavy lift of daily responsibilities, and the personal stuff each person is walking through. Sometimes, a season of low desire is just a sign that there are unspoken disappointments piling up or that the routine of life has made it hard to see each other as more than just roommates or co-parents. Rather than jumping straight to divorce, there is something incredibly healing about hitting the pause button to investigate what actually changed. By staying curious not furious and talking openly, many couples find a way back to each other that actually makes their bond stronger than it was before. The choice to walk away should really only happen after a real effort has been made to understand the root of the disconnect. Most of the time, there is much more life left in a relationship than we can see when we are in the middle of a crisis. So many times there have been relationships become rejuvenated or heal that maybe have had no sex for two years and they worked back through it or cases of infidelity or whatever it may be that has surprised even the more skeptic of us.

@wuthrook44 @PasqualeSasso @Michael61297655 Health insurance? If you're young, these costs are dwarfed by higher take home pay. Cost of living is cheaper in the US if you include real estate. If excluded, it's on par (some wins, some losses). We're Argentina 2.0. It's going to get worse.

@vandave @PasqualeSasso @Michael61297655 Not at all. If you are a lawyer maybe. But the Canadian middle class (household take home income between $75-250k), has higher wages and a higher quality if life than their American counterparts. Plus there are all the extra costs in the US and less benefits

@vandave @PasqualeSasso @Michael61297655 The professionals in the trades are coming here because they can make more money here than they can in the rest of Canada because of the amount of work and OT. The issue is the lower end professionals and a few select professions. It is too expensive in BC for low earners

@PasqualeSasso @Michael61297655 The temp foreign worker program was a bandaid that turned into a loophole. The bigger problem is attracting professional immigrants who can fill in for the important employment shortages. The international student program turned into a cash cow for a select few

Wow. As a longtime teacher and BCTF member, I have to say that I’m disappointed the union has chosen to be vocal about international politics. Of the 40,000 members it represents, I’d hazard to guess that 30,000+ would disagree entirely with this motion, or at least have a “why get involved” stance. I’ve received numerous texts and emails from former teaching colleagues who are outraged about this motion and are increasingly frustrated with the priorities and politics of the BCTF. Jewish kids in B.C. are afraid to go to school, and many require security. Not a peep about this? The BCTF should be focused on student learning outcomes and teacher professionalism in B.C., not political activism halfway around the world wouldn’t you agree @NinaKriegerBC? #bcpoli

The BC Teachers Federation, the province wide labour union representing over 40,000 teachers, has just passed a resolution in support of BDS! The first province-wide motion to support BDS in solidarity with Palestine!!

This is completely out of control The BC Teachers’ Federation is supposed to represent teachers and support education in British Columbia, not pass motions on foreign political movements and push activist campaigns that have nothing to do with our kids’ success in the classroom. Parents are watching this and asking: who exactly is running our schools? Because it’s clearly not families anymore #cdnpoli #bcpoli

@JohnRustad4BC Unions are known for supporting humanitarian and political causes, this is not new and you shouldn't pretend like it is. They support anywhere that teachers are impacted. You should try empathy.

@AntiCommieBecca @Rianstone I live alone in a house and it takes 4 hours of work per week to keep my place spotless. Cooking is maybe 3 hours and I eat healthy and clean. Easiest job in the world.

@Rianstone I’m actually an amazing project manager. If men are better at “organizing” at home then THEY should take care of the children & women should work. This is what you are proving. Cause office work is EASY as fuck! Literally one step above sleeping!

BC lost 20,000 jobs last month. The NDP spent yesterday obsessing over what I wore to vote by Zoom after I got stranded overnight by wind and snow and my luggage got lost. This is not a serious government. #Priorities
