I don’t agree that Israel is committing genocide or that it’s an apartheid state. You want to destroy the world’s only Jewish country in a post-Holocaust reality - a country established because of the historical persecution of Jews in the Middle East and Europe. That is de facto antisemitism, and your refusal to seriously engage with the history of how this conflict started is egregious. Why did peaceful British rule only last until 1920? What happened then? What happened in 1921? What happened in 1929? Why were previous two-state solution offers rejected? What happened in 1947 with UN Resolution 181? Who accepted it and who rejected it? What happened after that? Who started a civil war? What armies invaded? What was their objective? Did they want to govern the Palestinians or give them a state? Who occupied Gaza? Who occupied the West Bank? Why did Jordan give the Palestinians citizenship? Why did Jordan revoke that citizenship in the ’80s and render the Palestinians stateless? Why did Arafat turn down Camp David, the Clinton Parameters, and the Taba negotiations? Where are the Palestinian peace plans, Hasan? Where is the PLO’s two-state solution plan? Why do all of these come from the Israeli side? Why did they put up the barriers in the 2000s - the ones you point to as evidence of apartheid, alongside the checkpoints? What were they trying to prevent (and succeed in preventing) during the Second Intifada? You never grapple with any of these questions because you’re chronically unserious, and your number one objective is to radicalize your audience on this subject specifically. You’re a toxic influence, warping the history to fit your geopolitical objectives. Well, congrats. You got your wish. Now you have a guy with a totenkopf tattoo running in Maine and your buddy who refuses to condemn Hezbollah in Michigan. You’ve succeeded, Hasan. You’ve stretched the Overton Window, and everyone is going to suffer for it.
hasanabi@hasanthehun

if you agree that israel is committing a genocide and is an apartheid state, then separating this state from jews in the us is probably a winning message and combating antisemitism, dont you think?

Harrison on Carney slow rolling the negotiations with the US "And I think it's just as likely that if Trump does poorly in the midterms that he looks to lash out and Canada will be a convenient whipping post." "I hear a lot of cutting slack and putting this at the feet of the president in terms of, you know, what Canadians are willing to withstand" "The prime minister is the one who ran the election on being able to fix this issue." @KatlynHarrison

I don't have faith and find life being up to me empowering, not depressing. Humans are capable, resilient, and creative. Seeing yourself as a "worm" that cannot withstand suffering sounds way more depressing tbh 🤷
David Parker@david_parker

I really pity people who don’t have faith. Without God, life is up to you, what could be more depressing? You, a mere worm, ashes and dust, cannot create your own meaning; suffering will crush you. With God, however, anything is possible. I have lived it.

@rupasubramanya @Pardy_LarryD Yeah, that's not how your comments come across, Rupa. Canada has serious economic problems and Canadians are dealing with the fallout. The CPC actually advocates for improving these issues while the Liberals do nothing. I'm done here. Unfollowed.

Good to know the CPC is managing to rake in record fundraising numbers in this apocalyptic wasteland they keep describing, a country where thanks to breadline economics, the economy is perpetually on the brink of collapse and Canadians have to rely on gulag rations to get by. It's remarkable that donors, just like the rest of the country remain so financially resilient amid total societal collapse.

Ottawa, ON –The Conservative Party of Canada announced today it raised over $9.4 million in the first quarter of 2026, marking the Party’s second-best non-election Q1 fundraising result on record. Under @PierrePoilievre, Conservatives continue to build strong grassroots support. In Q1 alone, 40,410 contributors gave a total of $9,430,682. As Canadians struggle with the rising cost of housing, food, and fuel, tens of thousands are choosing to back the Conservative vision with their hard-earned dollars.

I am strongly against free buses. More people will take buses if there are more frequent, faster, better connected services. That costs money. Fares also stop belligerent drunks and schizophrenic homeless people from riding the bus all day, deterring normal passengers.
Nicholas Decker@captgouda24

The case for free buses is actually really strong. They take people off the road, and make traffic better for everyone. At the very least, we should not expect them to make back their expenses at the farebox. Read it all below:

If you're wondering why Canada now has drug zombies and jihadist hate rallies in every downtown, you're merely witnessing our successful metamorphosis into a self-hating, post-national economic zone. This is what such places look like. It ends when we *stop* hating ourselves and desecrating our shared values.

@TristinHopper There's Judeo-Christian values. Then everything else. Everything else is COMPLETE SHYTE. We need a return to God A return to family A return to masculinity A return to nationalism. We need to stop apologizing for all of it. 😐

I am not Jewish. Or Christian, for that matter. I'm not religious. But I support Jewish culture because it: - values life, not death or some imaginary afterlife - supports dissent and intellectual inquiry - values family and community - champions self-improvement, not guilt

This passage from @MattiFriedman’s excellent new book is one of the most 🎯 things I’ve read in a while. He nails what so many of us have felt for years but couldn’t quite name — what’s been done to Anne Frank’s memory, and what it says about how Jews are allowed to be remembered
