@autumnlune IMO, this show handles romance very well. The interactions and actions were enough to let us know where they stand and what is there for them in the future.

their romance was mainly written in subtext, despite this, it was clearly and cleverly shown visually in the drama. they are not platonic, watch it frame by frame with your eyes open.

Yes, it's actually still related coz on the eps around 6-8 (i forget) Gucheon said that the spirit wanted his Yin energy and his mom also had the same amount of Yin energy as him so she let the spirit/Gwimae in a form of a giant fish ate her and lived him alive and his mom vanished (died) just like that So it could be the mom had a "talent", she was a shaman or maybe she was married to a spirit and ended up having Gucheon. He is still a half human

My Theory, saat dia kepisah sama ibunya di dalem sungai itu, dia udah berkelana di realm sampai akhirnya nemu cara untuk balik ke real world. Makanya Gucheon udh paham bgt sama jenis2 roh dan gmn cara menghadapi mereka krn dr kecil rohnya pas dia sekarat itu udh berkelana di realm dr kecil.
