Chaired a high-level meeting to review and remedy the air quality situation in Delhi-NCR. The meeting saw the participation of Delhi Environment Minister Shri @mssirsa, senior @moefcc officials and senior officers from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. This was the 4th such review meeting to assess the ongoing measures for the prevention and control of air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. 1) Stressed on zero-tolerance and maintaining constant vigil against open burning of Municipal Solid Waste. 2) Sought year-long monitoring of machines and Mechanised Road Cleaners. 3) Directed the concerned authorities to prepare district-wise plans for crop-residue management and year-round monitoring of stubble burning cases. 4) Asked municipal authorities of NCR cities to prepare a strict timeline to bridge the gaps in the Legacy Waste Management infrastructure and ensure its accelerated liquidation. 5) Directed installation of Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS) and Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD) in mission mode in the red category industries in Delhi-NCR. 6) Sought massive plantation drive on degraded land of Delhi-NCR. pib.gov.in/PressReleasePa…
