@mattyglesias Matty here is literally arguing that arming Israel's genocidal ethnic cleansing campaigns in Palestine & Lebanon must continue because it is simply too profitable and good for "American jobs" & the US economy to stop doing so. Too costly! The genocide must continue. What a FREAK

My sense is the sleight of hand runs in the other direction and people who want America to undertake costly efforts to coerce Israel (arms embargo) like to conflate it with the idea of cutting aid (which saves money).
Adam Johnson@adamjohnsonCHI

Note the “aid” sleight-of-hand here. When the majority of Americans hear “stop all aid” they assume this means stop arming Israel. Yglesias—like Netanyahu & Lindsay Graham—means ship them weapons but have Israel pay for it which is accounting minutiae of zero moral significance

@moetkacik They are truly evil beings and are on TV & in ""meetings"" and having """conversations""" at """"events"""" every single day to further their evil aims and genocidal ways & """""policies"""""" which they approve of in this world. The outstanding question is what to do about it?

The US government is "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today". - Martin Luther King Jr. in 1967 It's even more true today, on the 4th of July, the 250th anniversary of a warmongering imperial project founded on slavery and the genocide of indigenous peoples.

@brianros1 11 thousand ""followers"" and this post got one (1) sole, single, solitary like. Everyone can see you for what you are, you realize this? That there is no rhetorical trick you can use to escape this now. You are a genocidal Zionist, akin to a modern day Nazi. That's who you are.

Which totally ignores that a whole hell of a lot of us — even plenty who don't agree w/everything Israel has done — don't think it's a genocide no matter how many times you claim it is.

@scotttheskeptic @brianros1 Rosenwald won't say. He and Goldman know what it is, everyone does but especially genocidal Zionists like them. The shared Zionist PR goal is stalling. They waste your time with endless reality denialism so the continue genocide can continue as they like. "Debate me bro" ZioNazis

@brianros1 Right, you are ethically flawed because you publicly deny a broad daylight ongoing genocide that everyone can see and knows is happening. You and Goldman denying the reality of the live streamed genocide is why you are bad people and why tens of thousands voted against Goldman.

@brianros1 Apparently thousands of Democratic voters in his district consider Goldman's genocide denialism to be an ethical issue. That doesn't register as a glaring ethical flaw to you?

Israeli terrorist forces deliberately targeted and murdered Mona Khalil, a renowned conservationist who saved sea turtles near Tyre Israel is poisoning farmland, destroying villages and killing everyone connected to the land of southern Lebanon It is called ethnic cleansing
Nada Maucourant Atallah@MaucourantNada

Very sad to learn that Mona Khalil died after weeks in the ICU following an Israeli strike that levelled her home in Mansouri. She was a very well-known environmental activist and dedicated her life to saving endangered turtles. She stayed in the south despite Israeli strikes because of her love for the land. She was a civilian, a renowned figure but Israel targeted her house. CNN profiled her in 2017 here: edition.cnn.com/2017/08/17/mid… “I live every day to the fullest and don’t worry about tomorrow,” she told the newspaper.

I just want to say that Israel murdering members of the Palestinian resistance is illegitimate, and we should use proper language around this issue. For a long time, I was bothered by the reference to civilians when it came to counting the murdered, because implicit is the idea that Israel murdering resistance fighters is somehow okay. It's much like the way that the reference to women and children implies that the killing of men is okay. Whether Hamas, Jabha, Shoyouiyyeh, etc., they are also civilians. They are indigenous, armed civilian resistance movements against a belligerent, expansionist, foreign colonial cancer.

this is literally AOCIA's position. Her position, that was hailed by Hasan and the pseudo-radical media class as a huge victory and laundered as support for an arms embargo, is actually the position of AIPAC and Netanyahu and John Fetterman and Laura Loomer and Ben Shapiro

Biden WH war criminals continue to auction off the nonsensical line they were bumbling bystanders who didn’t do enough to “reduce civilian harm” rather an active party to the genocide providing weapons, covering up evidence of war crimes at State and refusing to condition support
Jonathan Guyer@mideastXmidwest

How does Team Biden respond to their critics on Gaza? "A mistake that our administration made was not prioritizing enough reducing civilian harm and ultimately trying to end the war, in particular the war in Gaza," Jon Finer, who served as Biden's deputy national security adviser, told the Council on Foreign Relations this week. youtube.com/watch?v=v4ntug…

AOC called MTG a bigot after AOC got criticized for backing the US support of a White Western regime that is literally committing racist genocide for lebensraum. MTG's right-wing cultural views are of zero consequence compared to AOC's material support for nazis.
Aaron Maté@aaronjmate

@AOC If you recognize that Israel is committing a genocide, why are you voting in favor of giving it $500 million for anything?

@afalkhatib This is what genocide looks like. Israel is never going to stop, which is why people are fighting against Israel by resisting its endless invasions and various US- & EU- backed ethnic cleansing campaigns throughout the entire region, + the broad daylight ongoing genocide in Gaza.

For many months, Gaza’s population has been dealing with the worst infestation of rodents, parasites, and skin diseases that are spreading like wildfire throughout displacement camps, markets, and communities in the coastal enclave. The spread of uncollected trash, raw sewage, bombed-out infrastructure, and massive amounts of rubble has created ideal conditions for the uncontrollable proliferation of rats and various types of bugs, all of which are biting people as they sleep, attacking children, eating through food and clothes, with no end in sight. There is a massive shortage of rodenticides and insecticides, not to mention a collapsed sanitation infrastructure with limited supplies. While this issue requires a broader strategy including reconstruction, an immediate-term solution must be implemented to provide countermeasures, such as sending in rodenticides, insecticides, traps, vaccines, medications for scabies and skin infections, on a massive scale to control pest populations. I urge all who can take action in the government of Israel and COGAT, the Trump Administration, the Board of Peace, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and the UAE’s Operation Chivalrous Knight aid mission to do so immediately. @BoardOfPeace @NCAG @nmladenov @SEPeaceMissions @SteveWitkoff @cogatonline @IsraeliPM @lightstonea @alfaresalshahm3 @jaredkushner

The plan is greater Israel by any means necessary. That’s it. There is no other 12D chess going on here. The war is destroying the petrodollar, they don’t give a fuck. It’s not part of some deep strategy involving energy resources, it strengthens China immensely. They don’t care. They will burn everything to the ground to try to get greater Israel. It was a common error in analysis to treat the Iraq war as “stupid” or “a mistake.” Paul Bremer dismissing the Iraqi army, obliterating the state through De-Ba'athification, creating the insurgency. It doesn’t make any sense as a strategy unless you understand that the war was for Israel. The Iraqi state had to be pulverized so it could never again threaten Israel. Iraqi academics, engineers, specialists of all kinds had to be killed or chased out in terror. Then ditto in Libya, ditto in Syria. The only plan is to try to do that to Iran. None of this was “a mistake.” None of it was “stupid.” The actual goals were just different from the justifications presented for public consumption. The Israel lobby is immensely powerful but a war with Iran was always the one thing they couldn’t get. U.S. state planners since the Iranian revolution have understood what closure of the strait of Hormuz would mean. It is apocalyptic for the maintenance of the petrodollar that the U.S. empire depends on. The lobby has been working our government for decades now. They’ve finally got a president blackmailed enough and a deep state zogged enough that the initial start of the war could go forward. Now they’re riding on the back of a tiger. The cost of living crisis is coming home. They have to keep the war going over what will be increasing civil unrest. Eventually they’re going to push Trump into doubling down. The goal is to go nuclear. That’s what they think is the way out. Nuking Iran. This is genocidal madness. It’s why everyone in Congress needs to be held accountable for not funding a single dollar for this illegal war. It’s why the anti war movement in this country needs to wake up and recognize that we are in a crisis moment. Our passivity will be taken by the ruling class as permission to do the unthinkable.

If this is what finally does it then fine, but it would be beyond perverse. Effectively announcing to the world that Europe literally values Ukrainian grain more than Arab lives.

The European Union has warned Israel that it is ready to impose sanctions on those aiding and abetting the trade of Ukrainian grain stolen by Russia in the occupied territories, after a new ship loaded with the cereal arrived in the port of Haifa. l.euronews.com/safl
