THEY PAVED OVER THE TRAIN TRACKS

@pawelk411 @Elk_Pilled @eris_nerung This is literally a common practice on minor railway crossings. The locomotive weighs several hundred tons and cuts through the fresh asphalt.

@RadarFennec most offensive part here is how they drew the British flag..
English

A foundational manga and anime series by the way.
Shane Gill@_ShaneGill_
Right wing chuds responded to this saying “b-b-but Japan is right-wing.” No country is a monolith and the left-wing of countries produce the majority of the media. The only thing the right consistently produce is shitty podcasts.

@ArthurSteggles @Prominent_Bryan Why would you want a transparent window in a BATHROOM?
English

@Graham_Mark_E @anggglo I live in Western Canada. I would be better off learning Cantonese or Tagalog than French. I encounter more speakers of both of those languages everyday. I know exactly one person who speaks French and he’s from France so he wouldn’t understand Quebecois anyway.
English

@anggglo This only drives home the point that they refuse to learn French. They have every opportunity, but they go out of their way not to. My own parents, lamentably, had a negative and anti-intellectual attitude about the fact that there was French class in school for me as a child.
English

They do. Every province has mandatory French classes for primary education and usually becoming elective for secondary. Outside of parts of NB, Ontario, and and Quebec, there is little need for French to be maintained and so language fluency degrades.
Omar El Fares 🇵🇸 عُمَر الفارس@3lfares
Why do English-speaking Canadians refuse to learn French? Genuinely weird
English

@eatingrapes1488 Let’s be real they just want to goon to your pictures. It’s the Internet.
English

@Stephen_Fremel @SwallowBug11 Yeah that’s why they’re built from lumber and dry wall bud congratulations Sherlock you cracked the code
English

@SwallowBug11 You could also ask why Americans build houses out of cardboard in areas regularly hit by hurricanes that destroy them🤷♂️
English

british people be like “our houses are built to retain heat” then you look and it never goes below freezing there so like why tf yall building em like that
Reisshub@Reisshub
34 degrees in the UK today
English

@FredrikRenman @jockeskit @ReviewsPossum Summer tires are only rated for 44F and higher (7C). You should be using winter tires or all weather at the minimum no matter if it’s snowing or not.
English

@jockeskit @ReviewsPossum Yes im swedish and i think you only need winter tires when is snows, you are very bright
English

I know that the median household income in the UK is lower than that of Mississippi, but even the poorest trailer trash in the US can afford a $100 window AC unit.
No Context Brits@NoContextBrits
Americans explaining to Brits how 26 °C (79 °F) isn’t hot while living in air conditioned detached houses made of wood.
English

@FredrikRenman @ReviewsPossum You should be buying all weather tires at the minimum actually, yes.
English

@ReviewsPossum Uk have couple days of of those degrees a year vs Mississippi whos has them alot more, like saying people in the us should buy winter tires cause they get maybe snow 10 days per year
English

@ElectricityGod @ReviewsPossum Don’t worry once a tornado happens they’ll be back to mocking wood houses, they can’t help it
English

@ReviewsPossum Now they acknowledge houses made of wood are better for the climate in the US south.
English

@Gragagrogog @RandomSprint Yeah to get it in smaller sizes than 1 pound it costs more than to just buy 1 pound, so there’s no incentive to either buy smaller sizes or to buy unsalted unless you’re buying unsalted specifically for a recipe that needs no salt for some ungodly reason
English

@vordea @RandomSprint Ok... Yea here you buy it by 250g blocks, and I sometimes use it for frying eggs (along with olive oil.)
English

@Prominent_Bryan Perhaps they have windows. They're great, they open as well as being transparent... unbelievable
English

@Gragagrogog @RandomSprint I don’t do a lot of cooking so the standard sized brick of butter (1 pound) will last me sometimes a year or more. If I bought it unsalted I’d be throwing away probably half of it each time.
English

@vordea @RandomSprint That's interesting. I've never had butter expire in the fridge in my entire life, even when I lived alone. (Nor have I noticed it ever picking up fridge smells.)
I've also just checked the butter I'm using, it's supposedly has <0.1g of salt in 100g...
English

@Gragagrogog @RandomSprint Because salted butter doesn’t expire when kept in the fridge. I don’t mean it has a long shelf life, I mean it doesn’t expire as long as it doesn’t pick up fridge smells.
English

@RandomSprint Why the fuck would you manufacture salted butter? Like... in what fucking scenario would you work with butter while not having access to salt at the same time?
English

@laser_operator_ I love the BC flag because it's a fucking mess, like all proper flags should be. If it's not overly ornate and utterly incomprehensible, it's just flagslop.
English

@tchoupastyle89 Unfortunately the government may be entitled to confiscate historic coins you discover on your property
English

@sylveralbatross I don’t have a problem with trans people as a concept. I have a problem with the annoying ones, and the ones who insist children can be trans. There’s no such thing as a trans child we know exactly who’s making the decision there.
English

@Red_Collyre @nichtmehr33 Why do Europeans act like Indians as soon as they get mildly roasted?
English

@nichtmehr33 Hohoho, nice roast, now tell us about the BMI-related deaths in the US.
English

Is HVAC technology illegal in Europe or do they choose to live like this?
