It’s one thing to wear a Purdue shirt, but it’s another to wear a Purdue football schedule shirt when their record was 1-11 that year. That’s a true boiler. @HammerAndRails

@SchutteDustin It's already happening. My mom doesn't bother watching the Tigers anymore - she used to be a die-hard. Too much trouble now. It's not really even about price: she can afford it. But doesn't want to bother with the hoops needed to jump through.

I don’t know that this is going to happen in our lifetime, but I do feel like sports are going to price themselves out of “an escape” for a lot of people. You have to have 35 subscriptions to watch your favorite teams. Prices get more outrageous for attending & streaming. Crazy.

@vortec4253 @notcharliejones Has it? Continuously disrespected by his AD in compensation? Terrible resources. Could be a GOAT at a serious school.

An iconic 1945 photo shows American soldier Ivan Babcock jokingly wearing the Crown of the Holy Roman Empire... Private First Class Ivan Babcock (29 at the time), a member of the Army's 165th Signal Photo Company. The photo was taken inside a mine in Siegen, Germany, which the Nazis had used as a secret storage facility to protect precious works of art from bombing. April 1945, near the end of WWII. Babcock wrote in his diaries that he wore the crown as a joke, despite sensing the object's incredible historical significance. The original image is in black and white and was digitally colored by Julius Jääskeläinen. The Crown of the Holy Roman Empire. The relic, also known as the Reichskrone, is one of the most important jewels in European history. It was probably made in 10th Century (962 AD) for the coronation of Otto I. It has a unique octagonal structure, is made of gold and decorated with 144 precious stones (including sapphires, emeralds, and amethysts) and pearls. It was the official crown used for the coronations of the Holy Roman Emperors until 1792. Today, it is kept in the Imperial Treasury at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. © Colorized History #archaeohistories

Stadium head in me can’t ignore the egregious amount of space on the LCA floor for a pistons game It’s so obviously built to be a hockey arena first Fans need to be closer to the court for a top tier playoff environment

@GfedGoCrazy You’re right regarding the areas behind the baskets… i really wish they would just add stands like The Palace had bring the baskets. The rest of the arena is really good for basketball though, they just need to fix that

BoilersXTRA needs your mailbag questions for this week's episode. What questions do you have for @samueltking and I about Purdue sports, college sports in general, pure weapons grade nonsense, etc.?

@itmeolliev @AndyStaples You can't. But being on the record with something that can be proven false later provides a little more accountability. That is, if there are any actual consequences to lying (which I doubt).

Tucked under the NCAA release about five-to-play-five eligibility is this little gem: A proposal for a tampering enforcement structure where the school that got the player has to prove it didn't tamper -- or it'll be guilty of tampering.
