Notable observation by Mr Vivek Rae in his Note of Dissent at para 7.3.25 of 7 CPC report:”As the defence forces have pointed out…they face an acute problem of stagnation & if there was a case for NFU it should have been given to them before anyone else.” Was it cited in court?
🇮🇳 If NFU is Denied to Indian Armed Forces, Then No Other Central Civil Services or Para-Military Forces Deserve It Either. Dear Col Mukul, Thank you for sharing the Additional Affidavit filed by the Union of India in Civil Appeal No. 495 of 2018. We, as Ex-Servicemen, most respectfully submit that while the Affidavit represents the stand of the Government, the Hon’ble Supreme Court is the ultimate arbiter of justice in this matter. We humbly request the Hon’ble Court to kindly weigh the Government’s submissions in the Affidavit against the unparalleled selfless service, sacrifices, and unlimited liability rendered by the Indian Armed Forces to the Nation and its citizens over the decades since Independence. We earnestly pray that the Hon’ble Supreme Court may consider this matter with sympathetic and humanitarian considerations, keeping in view the principles of equity, parity with other Central Civil Services and CAPFs, and the larger interest of justice and morale of the Forces. We continue to repose full faith in the wisdom and sense of justice of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Grant of NFU: The Govt betrays the Armed Forces. In the Additional Affidavit filed by the Govt this morning at 10.21 AM, the Govt has denied the NFU to the Armed Forces, mainly on the grounds of "significantly large Financial Implications". Just see the MISCHIEF, the Affidavit filed by the Govt is dated 20 January 26 which has been finally filed after three months, probably to avoid the particular Bench of Hon'ble Supreme Court since Hon'ble Justice JK Maheshwari is retiring in June 2026 end or to ensure that the Elections are not adversely affected. This is how the Govt plays with its own Armed Forces. However, the FIGHT will continue...... Sad day for the Armed Forces......
