🧬🧠 Check out our latest preprint on the genetics of impulsivity! medrxiv.org/content/10.110… In this paper, we examined ‘lumping’ versus ‘splitting’ models of impulsivity and characterized the shared and unique biology across multiple levels. A few key findings below! 🧵

Our multi-ancestry GWAS of EXTernalizing conditions (ADHD, substance use...) in ~4M people reveals neurodevelopmental risk, drug-repurposing targets, and yields one of the strongest psychiatric polygenic indices yet! 🧬🎉 doi.org/10.64898/2026.…

Having referred to it a few times this week, here is a (IMO) slightly more user friendly derivation of the LD-score regression estimator of heritability and its assumptions: gusevlab.org/projects/hsq/l…

It took me SEVEN years to figure out that you can save a ggplot as a vectorized .svg file ggsave("file.svg"). The svg file can be opened on powerpoint and it will be completely vectorized, even text are still recognized as text boxes! No more recreating plots on illustrator!!!!!

Excited to share my 1st-author work from the @arbelharpak Lab! We examine the accuracy of polygenic score (PGS) predictions across individuals in the UK Biobank. We make 3 observations that expose gaps in our understanding of PGS “portability”. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… (1/28)

Introducing real-time PRS-CS! Excited to share our new preprint with @getian107. Optimized for healthcare settings, rtPRS-CS ensures patients receive the most up-to-date genetic risk prediction by dynamically updating PRS weights using streaming data. 1/7 medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

‼️ Paper alert ‼️ "Deciphering the functional specialization of whole-brain spatiomolecular gradients in the adult brain" now published in PNAS!! How is brain function organized? Regions vs. gradients? Geodesic vs geometric? We add to the debate! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… 1/

4 years ago, we ran 16,554 GWASes for 7,271 traits across 6 ancestry groups and released the data to the public along with meta-analysis. After many careful dives through the results, we are happy to present these analyses on behalf of the Pan-UKB Project: medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

The genetic ancestry labels that the NIH “All of Us” biobank genetic data returns seem likely to add to general confusion about genetics and race/ethnicity [see appendix A here: researchallofus.org/wp-content/the…] 1/n
