@_MsLinda Exactly what I did last year. Got refunded even though I still used the rescheduled flight which was delayed for 24hours plus accomodation and meal.

This sucks, but it’s a good thing you’re resident in the UK where laws and consumer protection rights are actually enforced. Under UK/EU Regulation 261/2004, if your flight is rescheduled with less than 14 days notice, and it is not due to extraordinary circumstances like severe weather, security threats, or air traffic control strikes, you’re entitled to: 1.Your choice of: full refund OR alternative flight at a time that suits YOU (including on a different airline at their cost) 2. Compensation: €600 (~£520) for flights over 3,500km like London to Lagos 3. Care and assistance: meals, accommodation, transport, and communication costs while you wait. Here’s what to do immediately: 1. Email/message Air Peace NOW stating you reject the reschedule and require rebooking on the next available flight to Lagos before your wedding date on ANY airline. Give them 24 hours to respond. 2. Keep all receipts for any costs you incur due to this inconvenience(accommodation, meals, etc.) - you can claim these back 3. File a complaint with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at caa.co.uk - they handle complaints about airlines operating from UK airports. If you don’t hear back from them in 24 hours and you can afford to, book your own flight NOW and invoice them later. Then use @theairhelper or other similar aviation claims specialist to help you recover the new flight cost, the €600 compensation, and all additional expenses.

@Kayode_S9 @the_Lawrenz Lol... maybe you need to do more research. With EVs that can now do up to 350 to 490miles including Mercedes, and chargers everywhere. Don't play

@kelvinstrangee @the_Lawrenz You could change many EVs from home though. The advantage with Tesla is the low tariffs on public chargers compared to other brands.

@the_Lawrenz EV is the future. I remember looking up what car to get, but moving house made it easy because the house came with an EV charger installed already. The good part is that it's even cheaper to maintain. It cost about £5 to charge from 30-100% and this would last me two weeks 😀

@nosafk 💯- I can never go back to fuel after driving an EV for a year now. Apart from the convenience and all, I now spend far less on the cost of running the vehicle with @OctopusEnergy EV plan which allows me to charge at 7p/kWH overnight. My wife just joined the club too 😆

I drive an EV, and I’m not going back to fuel or diesel. The car is super quiet, and maintenance costs are low. I only need to worry about charging it. While I’m at work, I leave it on charge. Once I close from work, it’s fully charged. I don’t notice any strange noises or gas smell inside the car. The driving experience is superb. I recommend it🤝

@RafHM While controlled migration is key, your point around low-skilled workers is totally false if you cant provide any statistics. I am quite sure that as an immigrant with over 15 years working across different countries, I work in a high skilled role in the UK above your grade

Yes. I've been warning about this calamity for a while 7% of the UK pop. changed in just 3 YEARS thanks to the BORISWAVE of 4M+ people btw 2021-2024 This was the largest demographic shift in 1000 years In January, the first ripple of the Boriswave became eligible for PERMANENT settlement & BENEFITS Starmer knows this is disastrous and wishes to extend Indefinite Leave to Remain eligibility from 5 to 10 years However our weak & feeble PM is under intense pressure from his Labour backbenchers to keep eligibility at 5 years and extend it to the Boriswave ASAP However, even if ILR is extended to 10 years, Labour are offering people various shortcut routes to achieve ILR much earlier. In addition, Starmer's open border comrades (i.e. immigration lawyers) are promising to block this extension in the courts. Let's be clear: the majority of the Boriswave are low-skilled, low-earning migrants from the third world / developing nations. Allowing them to stay in the UK will be an economic and social catastrophe. The government - and any new government - must commit to blocking the Boriswave from settling in the UK. Indefinite Leave to Remain should be abolished. Clip from my monologue earlier this year:
Reform UK@reformparty_uk

If we don’t reverse the Boriswave now, the economic consequences will be catastrophic.

Dear Parents, I want to share one parenting secret with you. The one you won’t find in your regular blogs. And trust me, regardless of your faith, you will find this tip beneficial. I want to explain why some kids become completely stubborn the more you punish them. I am doing this because I got some messages yesterday from people who have kids in the diaspora and how their kids have become stone-hearted to their parents’ warnings. It is indeed painful. Remember that I mentioned the monumental book of Imam Al-Ghazali, Ihya’ Ulum al-Din. We have more things to learn from it. In this book, he talked about a fragile part of a child's mind called the “Veil of Shame.” Note: Every child has this because they are born upon Fitrah (purity of the soul). When a child does something bad for the first time, they usually try to hide it. They are afraid of being caught because they still value their dignity in your eyes. The scholars explained that if a parent exposes the child, screams, yells at them, and punishes every mistake, you are tearing down their veil of shame. Once a child realizes you already see them as a bad person, the humiliation has happened. They stop caring. You have destroyed their internal brakes. When they have no dignity left to protect, they will start doing those bad things openly and boldly. How do you notice this in your child? You can tell this is happening in your child when they stop trying to hide their mistakes and start becoming brazen or "strong-headed" when caught. This is a sign that the veil is thinning. To fix this, you need to use a concept called Taghaful. It translates to intentional ignorance or pretending you did not see a fault. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us this. He did this with a young companion called Usama bin Zaid. But I see that our parents, due to their high expectations, are often too impatient to look away. If you catch your child doing a hidden wrong, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pretend you did not see it. Do not confront them and strip them of their respect. Instead, bring up the topic later in a general conversation. Tell a story about why that action is destructive, without looking at them or accusing them. Let their own conscience do the punishing. Let them repent and fix it in secret. A parent who hunts down every small mistake will end up raising a child who has no shame left to lose. Let me know if you want more of these scholarly parenting tips. I will be willing to share. My DM is full with different issues. I cannot answer everything, but I am sure with these tips, a lot of those issues will be solved by God’s grace. Thank you for your attention. Allah knows best.
