The Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed our dear friend Ann Widdecombe was eating lunch when Joshua Kerry allegedly arrived at her house and entered through the front door. He then allegedly hit her on the head with a hammer 21 times. Before allegedly driving off. Why did the police and Keir Starmer tell Nigel Farage it was a “burglary gone wrong”? Louise Haigh did some stupid things with mobile phones in her 20s for which she was convicted with a conditional discharge - ie she received no punishment beyond the conviction itself - 12 years ago. I don't think we should hold that against her for the rest of her life.

I think it’s wrong to keep describing Louise Haigh MP as a convicted fraudster. She committed a crime 13 years ago. The crime she committed, for which she received one of the lowest possible sentences - a conditional discharge, does not preclude her from doing the job she has been appointed to. She made a mistake and she should be allowed to move on from it. Those in public life should be showing that those who have committed relatively minor crimes eventually have a route to a successful life without stigma. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/07/1…
