I just gotta say that I would be far wealthier had I done the MAGA impersonation so many others have done, but holy hell am I glad I don't have to beclown myself on a daily basis to prove my loyalty to keep the gravy train going. At some point, Trump goes, and all these people are going to have to reinvent themselves yet again to hitch their carts to a new gravy train. I'm embarrassed for them in handling the Jesus tweet, etc. I'm sure they sleep well on their cash, but you can only suppress your sense of shame for so long.

Most people are not gonna be convinced by pro-AI arguments like “we’re going to space” (most people have zero interest in going to space) or “it’ll cure cancer” (most people have seen zero proof that’s true or will be true before cancer plus healthcare costs kill them). The big narratives fail for 90% of people who are seeing the negative effects of AI and very few positives.
Grandma is still dying of cancer, they’re getting paid less after inflation than their grandparents and the richest people in history are outright saying that AI is stealing their jobs. You gotta show and tell folks what benefits they can see. Not pie in the sky crap, not “but your dying grandma can make a B2B SaaS app now” but actually real tangible results that show people how AI can benefit them.

Average people lack the ability to connect dots on a larger scale and see where the technology is headed. They also don't have the info - everyone just makes up their minds based on uninformed expectations. The industry should move forward. This problem will solve itself when A.I. starts to do great things among the people themselves. Their vision will have to see no further than a few feet then.
