It's increasingly clear the next internet economy will require a human trust layer. Today’s internet was built for humans browsing interfaces and seeing ads. Tomorrow’s internet will be mostly agents executing intents on our behalf. Humans compare products, browse websites, and enter card details manually but 1 agent can search 1000x more pages than a human automatically at machine speed. That breaks basic assumptions the internet was built on: humans are present, all bots are malicious and payments are human-initiated. 3 themes that will shape agentic commerce: - Online advertising breaks if platforms can’t distinguish real humans from autonomous agents and bots - Delegated human-to-agent authority becomes critical for trust, liability, and payment approvals - Payments move from human approvals to policy-driven execution by autonomous agents 🧵
