Worry more about your character than your reputation. Your character is who you are. Your reputation is what people think you are. - John Wooden.

Candace Parker saying Caitlin Clark being voted as the 11th-best guard by WNBA players is “crazy” “You’ve got some insecurities if you’re sitting down and putting Caitlin Clark as the 11th-best guard. Y’all need to go to a therapist.” 🎥: @PostMovesShow

Food for thought for the WI HS basketball community regarding summer TEAM activities. @WisBBYearbook @ColtonWilson23 @Uorangemen2 @BrettPickartsWI @SeanCriderBB @mmerg @MattBredesen @hshoops25 There is an assumption that team activities in June (as well as July but those seem to be less common) are going to have a meaningful impact on team success 5-8 months in the future when the basketball season takes place. The correlation between summer team activities and team success would seem to be much stronger in FB, VB, boys soccer, and other Fall sports as summer team activities generally “flow” into the season (albeit perhaps with a 1-2 week break in between). And yes, those summer team activities are not mandatory either as is true in basketball. However, this is not the basketball calendar. The equivalent basketball calendar would be team activities in early to mid-October leading into the basketball season (this year Nov. 9th for girls and Nov. 16th for boys). Potential issues with this framework may include athletes still competing in Fall sports. However, is this really a meaningful issue as the vast majority of Fall student-athletes complete their season by mid-October? Moreover, how is this potentially any different that a certain percentage of spring sport athletes still competing into mid-June when summer "coaching contact" is allowed? Are student-athletes more or less "busy" with other activities during this Fall window compared to June and July (jobs, vacations, etc)? It seems that HS team activities are relatively common in June (and perhaps July) not necessarily because this time period yields the best substantive results, rather just because this is generally the only time period in the off-season calendar in which "coaching contact" can occur. Perhaps this needs to be re-examined given how other HS teams can "flow" into their season through allowed team activities, but basketball teams generally can't. Rather, in basketball it is generally seven days of practice and then "off to the races." As an aside, going into the 2020 basketball season, the WIAA allowed an extra week of "coaching contact" in November leading into the basketball season due to many/most summer basketball opportunities being canceled because of COVID. Perhaps this was a good approach.

Kenosha St. Joseph as played in D3 the past two seasons due to the WIAA's success formula. The Lancers will move back to D4 next season as they no longer qualify for moving up a division based on the WIAA point system.

Now cancel Notre Dame. And screw “your word,” cancel Ohio State and Michigan, too. But keep signaling out Texas when no one in the country schedules like them.

Sources: Nebraska coach Matt Rhule signed a two-year contract extension this morning, which will take him through the 2032 season. It includes a $15 million buyout this year that effectively eliminates him from any jobs in this coaching cycle.
