@Frog47583687 @marcosagusstinn Decision making is never right if done continuously by multiple parties that change direction every 3 seconds while the average government doesn't even last two years. There's no big picture, every 1-2 years the new governments destroy whatever the previous ones did.

Italy is the clearest example of how a rich country can slowly destroy itself through decades of bad management. Since the late 1990s, Italy has had almost zero productivity growth. Real wages have stagnated. And public debt is now around 137% of GDP, projected to move toward 139% overtaking Greece as the highest in the eurozone. It is the result of 25 years of 1. Low innovation and very low adoption of new technologies 2. Family and insider succession in many companies, weakening meritocracy 3. Underdeveloped VC industry, startup ecosystem and R&D base 4. Political capture by lobbies and organised crime 5. Extreme administrative, judicial and business bureaucracy 6. Political fragmentation 7. Demographic collapse No country can remain rich forever if productivity does not grow, debt keeps rising and politics only manages decline instead of reversing it.

Social media already dropped the overall quality of content, with dumb and talentless creators taking the lead. AI risks to multiply that dumb factor by 100x. But it's not AI's fault, it's our education system, our schools, our family teachings. Idiocracy is coming.

Used in much smarter ways, with more creative direction. There's an overflowing amount of low quality stuff compared to the good one. If we don't teach the new generation, we will have a plateau of zombies with the IQ of a piece of wood in the next few years.

@RoundtableSpace wouldn't even cost 500M yen. I'm pro AI but this one doesn't give goosebumps at all, poorly made, zero storytelling, it just picks the manga images and makes them move a bit. There will be a time in which we'll have more control, but this wouldn't make the cut even in bollywood.

Do the central Rome/central London comparison, and you'll see that in relation to the relative salary, there's very little difference, if none.

@pubity Italy actually protects its people. Consumer rights, food quality standards, healthcare. Add property prices 5-8x cheaper than London or Amsterdam and you start to wonder why anyone stays in northern Europe paying €2,500/month rent for a shoebox.
