@bitcoinski The old web2 business models won’t work in web3. I must admit both Coinbase & Opensea have done a lot & continue to do a lot to advance the adoption & growth of the industry. So I hope leadership will embrace more of the web3 ideals everyone wants them to have.

@web3wagmi Even higher level, ALL centralized business models that only extract value from their user bases (Opensea, Coinbase, Facebook) will be eaten alive by decentralized replacements that disperse that value back to their user bases.

@studioSYLVO Yes it will. Which is why I think it would be a bad move to take free features and bring them back as paid, instead of coming up with brand new premium functionality.

@opensea is still the leader in the space. But there a few moats in web3, which means innovation is the only way to maintain market share. They have the funds to innovate, now it’s only a matter of if they can pull it off.

However, I have never seen people react positively to having functionality taken away, especially if it comes back as a paid upgrade.

ive talked about education in this space a few times, and it's clear with all this opensea sniping fud that there is a big lack of understanding in how token approvals work and why they are necessary for a marketplace perhaps i should do a spaces on this later?
