Odd that WalesOnline are attempting to smear Reform’s Joe Martin as the most disagreeable politician in Wales simply for saying things that Plaid didn’t like. The reason they walked out was because they feel they’re above scrutiny and needn’t entertain it. Another case of bias?

A road rage driver who followed a man to his workplace in Worthing to assault him has been jailed. Amir Aghaei, 33, lost his temper with the victim while driving in the town. The victim had slowed to allow another vehicle out from a junction, with Aghaei driving behind. Aghaei was abusive to the victim, and followed his vehicle to a premises in North Street. He then struck the victim and stabbed him with a screwdriver, causing injuries. At Lewes Crown Court on 6 July Aghaei was sentenced for admitting causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in public. Aghaei, formerly of Meadow Road, Selden, was sentenced to three years in prison. The court was told how the incident happened on 22 May 2024 in Worthing. The victim said: “In an aggressive voice he told me to pull over. While I continued driving, he did this a further six times. This made me feel very intimidated due to his aggressive body language as he had an exaggerated reaction and was flailing his arms around. “I then continued driving onto my place of work. He followed me there which increased how nervous I felt.” He described being “shocked” after being approached from behind in his workplace and stabbed five times with the screwdriver. The incident continues to leave the victim fearful and with anxiety. The court issued Aghaei with a restraining order which restricts him from contacting the victim for ten years. Speaking after the case Detective Constable Dan Waterson said: “This was a shocking example of road rage, where Aghaei went to great lengths to abuse and then assault the victim. “His behaviour was appalling, and left the victim in fear. So we were determined to get justice for him. “We are pleased that Aghaei is now serving a custodial sentence.” sussex.police.uk/news/sussex/ne…

Free Speech Union International, which is the umbrella group that FSU UK, FSU Australia, FSU New Zealand, FSU Canada, FSU South Africa and FSU Brazil sit within, has expressed interest in applying for grant funding from the US State Department. This would be to promote the right to freedom of expression in those countries, which, far from being a partisan cause, is a universal human right. What’s most extraordinary about the whole interview for me is, issue after issue, how totally ignorant Campbell is. He is not even aware of the College of Policing and NPCC document warning officers that being “colour blind” was not enough - that document was all over media commentary for about a fortnight after Henry Nowak’s murder. Alastair thinks it’s fake news or something obscure that Konstantin has “found” to catch him out. This man is the co-presenter of the biggest politics podcast in the country and he really doesn’t have a clue. It’s all just unoriginal vibes-based slop and “here’s something I wrote in my diary” back when I was important. A bit concerning really given the number of people who rely on the podcast to stay informed about contemporary issues

Kiran Kaur will serve less jail time than Lucy Conolly due to a shocking two-tier loophole. The mother of Henry Novak’s murderer got three years today for hiding the weapon her son used to repeatedly stab Henry Novak to death. She would normally serve just 40% of that sentence due to early release rules. But it gets worse… Buried in the judgment, the judge says Kaur may qualify for “Home Detention Curfew”. That means on top of her early release, she can be released on house arrest 180 days before the 40% point. Put simply, Kiran Kaur will serve just 8 months for her role in Henry’s murder. To put that into context, Lucy Conolly served over 10 months for one badly worded tweet. Unlike Kaur, she was told that her offence made her “presumed-unsuitable” for house arrest. I’m sorry. But this looks like another case of two-tier justice to me. Kaur conspired with her son as he sought to smear Henry as racist he lay dying on the street. Frankly — as an Indian national — she should be deported to serve a very lengthy sentence in her country of origin. But to let her off with house arrest, when it was denied to others, would be an outrage.
