Coffee is super labor intensive. I'm sort of wondering if you could automate most of the production process. Step one: Hoppers are placed at the base of coffee plants and downward sloping. Plants are gently vibrated so that ripe cherries fall off as soon as they are ready. Step two: The coffee cherries slide downhill to be collected in fermentation containers. Coffee cherries are then fermented for weeks until the fruit layer just falls off and dissolves. Step 3: you now have coffee beans with the inner shell intact but with the mucus layer gone. Step 4: beans are placed in a tumbler similar to a commercial dryer and turned at high heat and velocity to break off and pulverize the inner shell and then remove the dust. Beans are simultaneously toasted. Step 5: Dried and roasted beans are pulverized into ground coffee.

@leevalueroach After every time the prices spike like they have now, I look back and wish I had sold out. Commodity producers eventually over produce and the price crashes.

Looking into cattle farming. High level numbers told by a buddy: - Buy a bred cow for $2,500-$3,000 - The calf is worth $1,000 at birth - Raise the calf until it is weaned (6 months) it is worth $1,500 If you sell the cow and calf together as a pair you get $4,000 to $4,500 Industry seems ripe to scale as old farmers are starting to die off and younger people are not getting into cattle farming as they could do anything else with their time like tech. Anyone have experience here in this business?

$LB - LandBridge What the market is missing: - Just 10% of revenues are oil and gas royalties - Its sponsor, Five Point, founded PowerBridge. PowerBridge is working to get data centers to the Permian. It works with $NRG Energy, which will make it MUCH easier to get deals done on LB land. - Unofficial reports show work is in progress with players like CoreWeave. - Stargate will be perfect for the Permian. - There is no other player that has what LB has when it comes to low-risk contiguous land. - Eventually, LB will be home to mega-campuses that come with external power facilities, etc, as it aims for the big deals instead of smaller commercial customers. - Nat gas is basically free in the Permian (Waha). Once egress improves, both LB and $TPL will get a huge boost in revenue growth. - Drillers will pay anything to get rid of brackish water in the years ahead (LB partners with WaterBridge). This decline sucks, as it's fueled by fears of an implosion of Permian activity. That's not happening. And even *if* it were happening, it would massively boost oil prices and push activity into the Delaware's best acres, which LandBridge services. Disclaimer: LB is my largest position.

Re-reading one of my fave history books, “A Short History of Byzantium”, by Norwich. Classic read all told. Reminds us that pre-modern societies were incredibly barbaric, constantly at war; and where human life could be taken on the instant whim of any capricious ruler. And that was within the Empire… We are truly blessed to live as we do, in the West.
