@whatkhdid The HSE are fearful of giving out second hand equipment due to the possibility of liability claims. That is a fact.

I am waiting to be trained by a Coloplast nurse. I can not be trained until we have a toileting chair in our possession. Funding request went to RAG @ last meeting. To my knowledge, funding has yet to be granted. We’ve spent thousands upon thousands paying privately for items.

@dwiftyds The first seat my daughter was given by brothers of charity had been used previously. It was an old lecky chair we got from HSE stores so that’s not factually correct.

While it’s frustrating and financially stressful for families it is not a patch on the pain, discomfort, distress&in many cases, lack of safety those waiting on items suffer.People in agony outgrowing their wheelchairs,unable to bath/toilet safely or be hoisted- it’s despicable
