I tell you what @maddow You just talked about the Trump admin attack on black Americans. You also really enjoy covering #nokings events. Why don’t you do some investigative reporting to understand the reluctance of black Americans to participate in No Kings demonstrations and visible resistance to MAGA in general? There are a lot of us old white folks standing around, waving signs. Where are the heirs of John Lewis?

Trump on Civil War: Why couldn't that have been settled? Maybe it could have been. Robert E. Lee was an amazing general. He took something that was supposed to end in a day and made it last four years. If Gettysburg didn’t happen, he would’ve won.

Just put 1AD back in Europe (or bring back 2AD) & put a BDE from 2(7) ID back in Korea. 1. You have your deterrence 2. You stop breaking the ABCTs and SBCTs No one enjoys the rotations. Especially with the amount of dumbass rules units put their SMs under.

Americans love banging on about the War of Independence. They’re quieter on the War of 1812. Here’s why. In 1812, America declared war on Britain. The plan was to march into Canada and annex it. Thomas Jefferson said it would be “a mere matter of marching.” It wasn’t. The Canadians sent them packing. Two years later, the British sailed up the Potomac. American forces collapsed at Bladensburg in what’s still called “the Bladensburg Races” because of how fast they ran. President Madison had already fled to Maryland. The British walked into Washington unopposed. They sat down in the White House, ate the dinner Dolley Madison had laid out for forty guests, used the President’s silver, then set fire to the building. Then they burned the Capitol, the Treasury and the Navy Yard. A freak thunderstorm put the fires out the next day. The British left when they were ready. It’s still the only time a foreign army has captured the US capital. You can see why it doesn’t come up much.

You have got to be kidding me. The State Department is putting Donald Trump’s scowling face on the U.S. passport. His signature in gold. Superimposed over the Declaration of Independence, a document literally written to get away from this exact behavior. No sitting president has ever done this. Coins, park passes, battleships, and now your passport. The man cannot find a surface he will not slap his name or face on. This is not patriotism. It is vanity.
