Cathay Pacific flight CX156 (Airbus A350-900, registration B-LRV) from Brisbane (BNE) to Hong Kong (HKG) that got absolutely wrecked by turbulence yesterday.... 10 people hurt (6 crew, 4 pax), 8 in hospital. It hit right as they were serving meals. Clear air turbulence is sneaky AF because no warning on radar. Stay safe up there, always keep your belt on

I primarily take long haul flights and don’t know one rich person who doesn’t try to get biz class
For short domestic flights it’s pretty irrelevant either way

@bowtiedbrazil @paul_k_0907 Did I say that it was? Sleeping on planes is usually poor sleep quality, and unless you’re getting on and immediately knocking out (which I don’t do), you’re probably getting 5 hours of sleep max on an 8-hour flight..
I’d rather add an extra day of vacation to recover instead.

Final update: I agreed to withdraw my motion for sanctions if he withdrew his motion and paid my fees.
We negotiated the fees to $11k, he wired the money within an hour, withdrew his motion shortly after, and thanked me profusely in four separate emails for being reasonable.

Update: a week after filing a response to the AI-generated motion and a separate motion for sanctions, opposing counsel filed a notice saying I never responded and therefore he wins. I checked, and both my response to his motion and my motion for sanctions show in the docket.

Update: No place has it. Called several H-E-Bs, Whole Foods, bookstores and a few gas stations.
Most stopped carrying it all together or don’t get certain days because of the distributor.
Drove to a Barnes & Noble 30 min away because they said they had a couple. Nope. They were Friday copies!

Not long after I was hired (and still on probation), my wife and I were non-reving PDX to MSP. We had seats on the nonstop 757, but wife asked me if we could go up to SEA out of PDX and fly the 747 to MSP and try to get 1st class. I checked the loads the night before and everything looked fine, so I begrudgingly agreed. I had no plausible grounds for saying no.
So we get to the gate and watched the nonstop 757 to MSP push with lots of open seats (I had a bad feeling about this) and got to SEA just fine, only to discover at SEA, the NRT 747 had cancelled and so had our 747 to MSP. I knew it would happen, but I kept my mouth shut, mostly. Finally, we caught a full DC-10 to ORD jammed into coach and something to MSP, getting in at 1130 that night.
In 31 years at NWA and Delta, my wife (or I) never got into 1st class non-rev on a 747.
We also never let a ride with an open seat leave without us either.

Tried to non-rev back home to Honolulu today and got crushed by IRROPS. One diversion into LAX and suddenly every seat disappeared with accommodated passengers. Tomorrow’s flights are just as full.
Had to wave the white flag and buy last-minute Delta tickets for all 3 of us just to get home in time for my KIX trip and my son’s finals this week.
$849 later… non-rev life stays undefeated 🤦🏼♂️
Well, at least we’ll be home tonight.

Delta rejected adopting SpaceX's @Starlink on its fleet because it wanted to provide internet connectivity to passengers via the Delta Sync portal, instead of the Starlink-branded portal. Delta has since chosen to partner with Amazon's LEO.
This will result in Delta falling behind many of its competitors in offering high-speed WiFi onboard, as many other carriers are already offering or installing Starlink, whereas Amazon's LEO airplane WiFi for Delta is still a couple year away (or more).
Satellites currently in orbit:
• SpaceX's Starlink: 10,400
• Amazon's LEO: 300
