WHO and the Ministry of Health’s Healthy Cities Office jointly held a workshop to introduce the updated Healthy City Indicators for the EMR, supporting evidence-based planning for healthier living environments. With a subsequent Training-of-Trainers workshop.

The Kuwait CDC, in collaboration with WHO and EMPHNET, held a multisectoral workshop to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for the National Rapid Response Teams, strengthening coordination, preparedness and systematic learning from outbreak responses.

The Regional Healthy Cities Network, as of now, has 128 city members from 15 countries in the region. This network aims to improve public health, achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, and promote community empowerment. This network is part of the healthy City Programme, a long-term international initiative to place health high on the local political agenda and create a culture for health promotion through: 🔵green energy initiatives 🔵access to healthy diet options 🔵tobacco-free markets 🔵parks and walks for physical activity #WorldCitiesDay
