you can see there's:
- a crosshatch triplanar normal map on the mesh
- a solidify modifier with a second material for the shell
- shell has flipped normals + pure black + noise in alpha
- compositing is noise on position + displace nodes..

JPLs 3d-tiles-renderer v0.3.20 is released with big optimizations to frustum culling! At times over 45% fewer tiles drawn per frame and 35% fewer loaded on Google Tiles which brings draw & load times down significantly!
