They’ve made their choice. We see their colours - the BBC cant and wont fund this great institution and many others in the future

@davesumnersmith They would be a tad silly if they thought that Scotland could ever get to join the EU, because it would take decades. If Scotland were ever to become independent it will not a great idea to move here. Due to the high tax dreadful transport system and the State police plus no NHS

@JohnShoe22 @CarolineLucas Actually factually inaccurate to say its mild with children being hit quite badly and even with a big vaccine programme a relatively high daily death rate. This is slow herd immunity by another name and will lead to waves of variants. Let’s all read the science.

@CarolineLucas I'm far from a Tory, but actually it makes sense. Omicron is generally mild, it displaces the more dangerous delta, and it effectively vaccinates all who catch it. It is so infectious there is little point in resisting, except to slow the spread in the next two weeks.

Had to double check this was serious. What on earth is this government thinking? Bad enough not to pay people properly to self-isolate - but this? Do they not want to stop the spread of this disease??

@ChrisGPackham What is more likely to have happened is the sabs, who tend to often blow hunting horns to confuse the hounds, blew the horn in the wrong place and the hounds crossed the line to get back to their ‘huntsman’. I have seen it many a time when it causes the same deaths on roads!

@GeorgeMonbiot George, I rarely disagree with you. However, I have far more issues with those flying than I do with SUVs. When airlines fly empty planes to keep control of takeoff slots, why not direct hate to them for the climatic harm they are doing?

It's all about choice, we're told. But why should we be allowed to choose to destroy other people's lives? I think this every time I see an SUV in the city: why is it OK to inflict so much climatic harm, local pollution and danger to pedestrians just because you fancy the model?

We're now 2 yrs into the decisive decade. Emissions should be in an unprecedented fall, instead we're seeing the 2nd biggest rise ever recorded. We're wasting invaluable time pretending we can solve this crisis without treating it like a crisis. World leaders are still in denial.
