The only Ken holland picks left on this team: Larkin, Rasmussen. 1st round picks that didn’t pan out: - Svechnikov - Cholowski - Rasmussen - Zadina What was yzerman left with? - Larkin -Mantha - Bertuzzi - Hronek - Shells of former semi decent players So yes, it might take time to rebuild an organization that had 95% nothing going for them until Yzerman came in and unfortunately never once was able to make a top 3 pick in the draft and never once moved up in the draft. @wouldbirds @lindylou266 Yes, he’s made some mistakes (Lalonde was a big mistake, Holl signing, Tarasenko, etc). But he was starting basically from scratch. Ken Holland left a mess behind.
And the drafts, I mean they repeatedly got hosed. I have no complaints with the drafting.

The position of the post wasn't to blame Holland, it was to remind people how little Yzerman had coming in to work with.
1. Saying every FA has been terrible is overkill. Why would any good FA go to a rebuilding team? Ala Wings, sens, habs, etc.? Can't actually recall any significant player signing with a team they weren't already on when it comes to more recent rebuilding orgs.
2. Just because he hasn't yet, doesn't mean he won't.
3. That is just downright false.
