Got it to work - had to add this: register_meta( 'post', 'some-custom-field-name', array( .... 'show_in_rest' => true, 'object_subtype' => 'some-custom-post-type-name', 'auth_callback' => function () { return current_user_can('edit_posts'); } ) );

@mattwatsoncodes Great blog! Following your tutorial about saving meta using dispatch and editEntityRecord but it wont work for me - wholesomecode.ltd/blog/update_po…. It saves the post_title but not any meta. Do you know if this is still working the way described ?
