@JudahMaiye It depends on what you see as success and happiness. God's wish is for us to succeed and live a happy life in him. So yes, it's a guarantee for success and happiness.

Ultimately, the most important strategy in life is to be on the Lord's side. This strategy doesn't guarantee success, fame, or happiness, but it guarantees what really matters: that God is pleased with you.

Shutting down a city of 20 million people to clean their immediate environment is parochial and lacks imagination. For emphasis: the issue is not so much about cleaning your environment (which is great) but the logistics of waste management - starting from the collection, to disposal and recycling. Anything short of rethinking this system is cosmetic and unimaginative.
Tokunbo Wahab@tokunbo_wahab

Tomorrow morning between 6:30am and 8:30am, we begin a new chapter in our collective journey toward a cleaner Lagos. The monthly environmental sanitation exercise returns, and I am calling on every resident to come out and participate actively. Let me address the confusion some have tried to create. No court pronouncement has invalidated this exercise. The State proceeded to the Court of Appeal, and judgment was delivered in our favour. The Court affirmed that the laws used for the implementation and enforcement of environmental sanitation are legitimate and constitutional. So disregard those who choose to mislead the public. We have planned this for over a year. We have thought it through. We cannot keep complaining about dirty surroundings and blaming government while shirking our own responsibilities. The care of our environment is a collaborative project between government and citizens. Major transport unions controlling about 90% of vehicles on our roads have pledged not to deploy their vehicles from major parks during the sanitation window. If government vehicles are staying put, what will it cost us to stay home for just two hours to clean our environment? We are not unreasonable. Exceptions exist for emergencies, scheduled flights, and students writing JAMB exams. LAWMA has been fully mobilized to evacuate waste generated. Environmental health officers will monitor properties, and defaulters will be served abatement notices. Tomorrow, let us show Lagos and the world that we are ready to take ownership of our environment. Two hours. One Saturday each month. A cleaner, healthier, flood-free Lagos for all of us. #LagosSanitationExercise #CleanerLagos

This guy posted a video of himself playing chess inside the Louvre Museum in Paris, wearing his agbada, and called it a proud moment saying he was the first Nigerian to do it. Immediately, people started dragging him hard: “Is that even an achievement?”, “He’s just playing by himself”, “How do you know you’re the first?”, “Clout chasing”, all that kind of talk. What you guys should understand is that personal wins are personal. What looks small or unnecessary to someone else can be a really big deal to the person who did it. For Tunde, walking into one of the world’s most famous museums and setting up a chessboard there might have felt like a meaningful milestone. He’s been pushing chess from the slums, teaching kids, holding a real Guinness World Record. So maybe in that moment he thought, “Let me add my own small chapter here.” If he searched online and didn’t see any other Nigerian claiming or posting about doing the same thing, why shouldn’t he say he’s the first (at least the first one he knows of)? And let’s be honest: we see white people and folks from other countries do this kind of thing all the time. Someone from abroad travels to Nigeria or any other country, does something simple like visiting a landmark, trying local food, or even just sitting somewhere with a unique vibe, and they post it as a big personal achievement or “bucket list” moment. Nobody drags them or says it’s not valid. So why is it suddenly a problem when a Nigerian travels somewhere and does something like opening a chessboard in a famous museum? It’s the same energy. We should celebrate small wins too. They can inspire others, especially young people. Life is already hard, let people enjoy and share their moments in peace.
