@ScarbsTech These type of QD couplings have been used for decades in agriculture and industry. It's cool to see them applied to the pinnacle of motorsport XD

This year's most common #F1 FAQ "How do they change the nose with Active Aero?" It will vary by team, but most appear to use hydraulic actuators mounted inside the nose. They'll need hydraulic fluid usually taken off of the power steering. The solution is quite simple... #F1tech

@srb1337 @Gallilepus @ImperialMaps @vintagemapstore No forest in Germany fits the definition of a primeval forest but some are among the oldest in central Europe; for example the Sababurg Forest in Hesse hasn't been farmed for over 100 years. Some birch and oak trees are presumed to be over 600 years and up to 1000 years old

Late in the design process for the Minuteman missile, the decision was made to put the flight computer directly in the control loop, instead of having it send raw guidance commands to a separate flight surface controller that could close a smaller feedback loop more quickly. That meant the main computer would have to touch every guidance/control cycle, something it couldn’t do with 1,500 transistors. Three guys in the Autonetics Division of North American Aviation (later part of Rockwell)—Marshall McMurran, Al Jennings & Claude King—were given 24 hours to redesign the Minuteman flight computer. They ended up adding dozens of read/write heads to the 6,000 RPM magnetic disk in order to creatively use storage & run separate calculations concurrently in an all-night hackathon, redesigning logic, software, I/O, & memory access. The Autonetics team’s design was approved the next day, & the resulting computer, the D-17B, flew on the Minuteman I on its first test flight in February 1961. #whiteexcellence

You’re right — AC and DC are different. Both are induced by the oscillation and wave propagation of dipolar magnetic particles in conductors —not by flowing charges. DC: oscillation stays within a half-phase (<180°), so polarity never flips. AC: full 360° oscillation, so the polarity switches ~120 times per second (at 60 Hz).

Obligatory shill on a tweet doing well. I just finished my sci-fi western series After Moses and the advance readers say the ending is good. Here is how not to destroy a serjes. Step 1. Have a plan and stick to it. Step 2. Don't let a beloved side character take over the franchise. Step 3. Don't escalate to the point of losing all credibility. Step 4. Don't make primary characters detestable. (Looking at you Elizabeth) Anyway the e-book of book 1 of my series happens to be on sale for $0.99. Nothing to lose risking a buck on a total stranger who tweets okay sometimes, right? a.co/d/1Rc9zYo
