We keep hearing about 10x or 100x productivity gains in engineering and knowledge work. But outside the model labs, I haven’t seen the corresponding 10-100x revenue growth across the market or increase in quality. So where is the productivity going?

I read the turbopuffer blog somewhere, I think it’s someone commenting about why @linear removed elastic from vendor list. Fantastic idea. Glad to see it’s profitable with little funding and huge revenue
Simon Eskildsen@Sirupsen

turbopuffer crossed $100M run-rate in March. 19mo after $1M. Profitable & <$1M raised. Cursor・Anthropic・Notion・Cognition・Harvey・Bridgewater・Ramp・Linear・Legora・Superhuman・Atlassian・Granola We’d be nowhere without them. We work like hell to exceed their expectations.

An update: we’re 3xing the rate limits for Gemini models across all paid tiers in Antigravity and resetting everyone’s Gemini quota for the week. We understand some people hit their rate limits quickly and wanted to respond fast. Lots more to come and enjoy building!

I have loved Google all my life, but there’s a particular pathology I’ve been observing over the last 3 years and it’s starting to bug me. Google keeps creating overlapping AI products with confusingly similar names. Back in 2024, it was Gemini, Gemini Advanced, Gemini Pro/Ultra subscriptions, Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, etc. Today it’s Gemini Spark, Google Antigravity, Vertex AI, Gemini API, Google AI Studio, the Gemini app, and more. I would love to see a coherent product umbrella like OpenAI or Anthropic have built. Instead, I’m often left looking at product names that sound similar but serve very different use cases.

Introducing Gemini Spark ✨ It’s your 24/7 personal AI agent that helps you navigate your digital life, taking action on your behalf, and under your direction. 🧠 It runs on Gemini 3.5 and is built on @Antigravity, so it can perform long-running tasks easily in the background. ⏱️ And because it runs on dedicated virtual machines on Google Cloud, you don’t even need to keep your laptop open. 🧰 Spark will integrate seamlessly with Google tools, and soon with third parties through MCP. #GoogleIO

Tested 3 AI 3D generators in 2026: Rodin AI wins - only one whose output ships to Three.js without ~2 hrs of cleanup. Meshy AI: faster iteration, missed polygons. Tripo AI: really weird result. By the way, all of them are good and you need choose a model depending on task. Added videos for comparison.

I feel like Google is going to win consumer AI. It’s the only US lab that’s building video models and consumers love video (e.g., TikTok / YouTube is far more popular than text based platforms). The only real competition is Seedance and other video models that don’t care about copyright?

Excited to welcome Andrej to the Pretraining team! He'll be building a team focused on using Claude to accelerate pretraining research itself. I can’t think of anyone better suited to do it — looking forward to what we build together!

Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

Ordered a 3-hour home cleaning service from a robotics startup. They sent: 1 robot 2 engineers 1 cleaning lady The robot froze for 20 minutes after entering my home. Then spent 1 hour arranging tiny objects on my desk. Then spent 30 minutes moving a stack of books onto another stack of books, one by one, like Sisyphus. At the end, we gave up and asked it to fold two pillowcases as a demo. So three humans stood there watching a robot fold pillowcases for 20 minutes. Honestly, great deal. 20 dollars for cleaning, plus a live robotics education show.
