@acanthamoeba We use it in production on over 2k clusters. It's a bit specific use case. Like to hear what you think about it.

@chenoooooooo @brendandburns Won't beat cloud shell or ACI. :) But is as fast as VM boot.

@acanthamoeba @jkc137 Many dev think the whatif (preflight) validation are same as regular validation. We had same bug in AKS. BYO VNET, so we validate your vnet cidr by reading it. But when you bring a new VNET in same template...

Any of my tweeps in the @azure Cloud Shell team? Have an API question.
English

@acanthamoeba LoL, love that command. Wish we have more time to work on the CLI.
English

@sstranger It is client IP. The location is determined by traffic manager. Sometimes TM has outdated data. I have seen this before.
English

@gBico It does:) It runs on Mac too (I mean azshell). Check out github.com/yangl900/azshe…

@yangl900 I just love the idea! I moved to be using arch linux now and there are a lot of bugs when trying to install the cli things keep updating wrong. so I always use the cloud shell. I would use it for every thing ( of course I would need to run this on Linux)

Connect to Cloud Shell from your local command line! Tell us what you think. How would you use it?

@TeriRadichel @acanthamoeba @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk Hoping @maertend33 will publish the doc soon:) but your understanding is right, it does proxy http traffic to a locally opened port inside cloud shell. Convenient for k8s or, say you trying out a .Net core sample app that listens localhost:8000.
English

@yangl900 @acanthamoeba @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk Oh ok. I was asking about the “Configure port to preview” and I thought you were saying when I connect to those ports it is connecting to a proxy. Is there any documentation on that port functionality or can you explain what that is for?
English

Hey @KyleHaxWhy now my Azure shell seems to have randomly turned black, yellow and gray. Whattup?
English

@TeriRadichel @acanthamoeba @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk K8s credential (kubeconfig) stays in cloud shell, just like how it is used in your local machine. K8s proxy SSL terminates at kubectl inside cloud shell, cloud shell proxy uses its own SSL and authentication on top of it. It's a convenient feature.
English

@TeriRadichel @acanthamoeba @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk Your browser -> cloud shell proxy uses cookie. Its initialized when you login to cloud shell using your azure creds. Cloud shell doesn't store your creds.
English

@acanthamoeba @TeriRadichel @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk Yep it opens a proxy for local ports. Say you want 'kubectl proxy' and browse from local. Don't worry, the proxy is authenticated.
English

@TeriRadichel @JamesTrott @ashleymcnamara @blowdart @KyleHaxWhy @whosjluk @yangl900 I’ll defer to the experts for the official word
Speculation as an Internet rando w/ no insider knowledge: probably UX around this functionality to run things in cloud shell & visit it inside your browser. I stumbled on it a while back

@yaakov_h @SithDeveloper @brendandburns @Azure Just tried. My iPad is fine. This might be something else. Do you see directory selection at all? @R0binSturm FYI.

As neat as iSH is, no matter what I do, I can’t get the @Azure CLI tools to successfully install in it’s x86-emulated Alpine Linux environment on my iPad… 🤕
